UPCOMING EVENTS:

On April 25, listeners filled the phone lines as Jo
presented a very informative teleseminar. It covered a
broad range of topics ranging from generating your
manuscript to finding a publisher, and marketing your book.
The teleseminar included many valuable handouts and a
resource list. Here are some comments from people on the
call.

-------------------

After taking down five pages of notes, adding to my
'favorites' folder, and wheels turning in the brain, I have
to say I am quite favorably impressed by my first
teleseminar. It was super. You gave me a lot of valuable
pointers that are useful to me as I get ready to launch my
first book.

Thank you for donating your valuable time yesterday. We
enjoyed learning about the many valuable lessons you
conveyed. My wife & I are in the very early stages of
asking ourselves, 'What is that book inside each of us that
we want to write?' We know others who have published which
will help. Again, thank you for imparting your knowledge,
it is appreciated.

2. Whatever Happened to Ethics? By Kevin McNabb

========================================

How would you describe the state of ethics in business
today? Wonderful? Rock solid? No, I think most people are
disgusted with it. They are sick of dishonesty and
unethical dealings.

Of course the ethical problems we're seeing aren't limited
to just the business world. The public was horrified by the
recently revealed abuses that occurred in the Catholic
Church and how the incidents were covered up. Many were
surprised by reports that Pulitzer prize-winning history
professor Stephen Ambrose had plagiarized passages from
historian Thomas Childers for his book The Wild Blue. The
Ethical Dilemma

Our disgust is now turning to discussion. People want to
know: Why is ethics in such a terrible state? Although
there are many possible responses to that question, it has
been suggested that when people make unethical choices, they
do so for one of three reasons:

1. We do what's most convenient. An ethical dilemma can be
defined as an undesirable or unpleasant choice relating to a
moral principle or practice.

2. We do what we must to win. Many people believe that
embracing ethics would limit their options, their
opportunities, their very ability to succeed in business.

3. We rationalize our choices with relativism. Many
peoplee choose to deal with such no-win situations by
deciding what's right in the moment, according to their
circumstances. This is an idea that gained legitimacy in
the early 1960's following the publishing of a book called
Situation Ethics, by Dr. Jospeh Flectcher. The result is
ethical chaos. Everyone has his own standards, which change
from situation to situation. And that stance is encouraged.
A course entitled 'The Ethics of Corporate Management,'
offered at the University of Michigan, says in its
description, 'This course is not concerned with the personal
moral issues of honesty and truthfulness. It assumed that
the students at this university have already formed their
own standards on these issues.' So whatever anyone wants to
use as the standard is okay.

Making matters worse is people's natural inclination to be
easy on themselves, judging themselves according to their
good intentions - while holding others to a higher standard
and judging them by their worst actions. Where once our
decisions were based on ethics, now ethics are based on our
decisions.

It's good to know that there is a desire for change
regarding ethics in our culture. The bad news is that most
people don't know how to make that transition. Some Current
MarketPlace Solutions

If you look at what's happening in the marketplace, you'll
see that even though we desire honesty and plain dealing,
we're still not winning the battle of ethics. Take a look
at how people in our culture are currently trying to address
the problem. They ...

1. Outsource Ethics Instruction

2. Perform an Ethical Flea Dip (Think of washing a dog!)

3. Rely on the Law.

One of problems is that ethics is never a business issue or
a social issue or a political issue. It is always a
personal issue. People say they want integrity. But at the
same time, ironically, studies indicate that the majority of
people don't always act with the kind of integrity they
request from others.

The same person who cheats on his taxes or steals office
supplies wants honesty and integrity from the corporation
whose stock he buys, the politicians he votes for, and the
client he deals with in his own business.

Companies that are dedicated to doing the right thing, have
a written commitment to social responsibility, and act on it
consistently are more profitable than those who don't.

Let's go back to basics. How do you know what's right? How
do you navigate even the most difficult of pressure-filled
situations? Where can you find a standard that will work in
every situation - a guide that will help you to sleep well
at night, prosper in business, improve your marriage, and
have confidence that you're doing all you can every time?

My next article I believe will be the best answer to those
questions.

3. Mission Impossible - Or Is It? By: Community Soul

==========================================

'No one ever gets far unless he accomplishes the impossible
at least once a day.' Elbert Hubbard

At all times we are making a conscious effort to make andd
create. It never stops. We can't help it! Sometimes we
don't know what we want to make and create so we just do
things to mark time. At other times what we want might seem
beyond our capabilities and way out of reach. My question
today is: is what you want really 'Mission Impossible?'

I like to play with words. Fiddling with impossible II
discovered, with a little thought and creativity, that I
could take impossible and create something much more
satisfying. Through thought and a little punctuation
tinkering I came up with - I'M POSSIBLE. The difference
between 'impossible' and 'I'm possible' then is a tweak in
my thoughts - in this case an inverted comma and space.

Funnily enough what often lies between the 'impossible' and
'I'm possible' is the same sort of tweak in thought -
shifting the reality from what you see to what you don't
see.

When I'm being 'impossible' I see things working out wrong,,
me as a failure, things being hard and frustrating.
Loneliness. When I'm being 'I'm possible' I see rich sea of
resources, people lending me help, easiness, a fun
experience with eventual success.

I've learned that I prefer the 'I'm possible' option, so I
tend to start with this in mind, but sometimes the
'impossible' does creep back in.

What make the 'impossible' thoughts evaporate more thann
anything is having a true sense of purpose. With a true
sense of purpose it is easier to access resources, find
people who want to help and enjoy the ride of life more
because an ever increasing conviction of who you are and
what you want comes into focus. Once we know purpose we can
expand into it. Expansion is constant. It's all very well
if you know you're purpose, but expanding into it and
filling it is another matter entirely.

A therapist might say, 'I have a full practice, I don't
wantt any more clients.' In this sense purpose stops
expanding. But if the healer thinks less about time and
money and more about the people being denied their healing
treatments, expansion might continue. They might learn to
empower clients through talks and books, rather than through
one-to-ones.

In parenting it is no different. We want happy children.
When we're being 'impossible' we see fights between
siblings, and conflict between parents and children. When
being 'I'm possible' we seek ways to bring unity and harmony
into the home and discover coaches, friends or books that
can help.

Money is the same. When we're being impossible we might say
'I can't afford this.' Often we'll use money as an excuse
for not doing something. We'll procrastinate, run away or
even destroy good opportunities. When we're being 'I'm
possible' we'll explore money, understand it and learn to
work with it rather than treat it like a bad dog.

Other aspect of life - growing a business, deepening your
relationships, saving the planet are no different. All it
takes is a shift in thought.

Today's question:: Is what you want really 'Mission
Impossible?' Change what you see. Tweak your thoughts,
find the resources. The opportunities, the changes POSSIBLE
are exciting. Love and good wishes Neil

4. 26 Tips On Motivation - The Heart Of Self Improvement
By: Louis Bonaventura

================================ Pain is usually the reason
why people change. Getting failing grades make us realize
that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to
find a satisfactory source of income. If we had a
satisfactory source of income we wouldn't have debts; would
we?

Being humiliated gives us the 'push' to speak up and fight
for ourselves; to save our face from future embarrassments.
It may be a bitter experience, a friend's tragic story, a
great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up
and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order
to improve ourselves.

Pain is a great motivator! With the countless negativity
the world brings about, how do we keep motivated? Try out
the tips I've prepared from A to Z:

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and
places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, 'The future belongs to
those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.'

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can accomplish.

C - Consider things from every angle and aspect. Motivation
comes from determination. To be able to understand life,
you should feel the sun from both sides.

D - Don't give up and don't give in. Thomas Edison failed
once, twice, more than three times before he came up with
his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb.
Make motivation your steering wheel.

E - Enjoy! Work as if you don't need money, dance as if
nobody's watching, love as if you never cried, and learn as
if you'll live forever. Motivational momentum takes place
when people are happy.

F - Family and Friends - are life's greatest 'F' treasures.
Don't loose sight of them.

G - Give more than what is enough. Where does motivation
and self improvement take place at work? At home? At
school? Always give 110%!

H - Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a
moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.
Define your target and hit it, until you hit it!

I - Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don't let other
people get the best of you. Stay away from toxic people -
the kind of friends who hates to hear about your success.
Stay away form negativity!

J - Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself.
And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K - Keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a
person is motivated, eventually he sees a harsh life finally
clearing out, paving the way to self improvement.

L - Learn to love your self. Now isn't that easy?

M - Make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are
put into work clothes.

N - Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.

O - Open your eyes. People should learn the horse attitude
and horse sense. They see things in 2 ways - how they want
things to be, and how they should be.

P - Practice makes perfect. Practice is about motivation.
It lets us learn repertoire and ways on how can we recover
from our mistakes.

Q - Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose
your fate - are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R - Ready yourself. Motivation is also about preparation.
We must hear the little voice within us telling us to get
started before others will get on their feet and try to push
us around. Remember, it wasn't raining when Noah built the
ark.

S - Stop procrastinating. Don't put off until tomorrow what
you can do today - we never know what tomorrow will bring!

T - Take control of your life. Discipline and self control
jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in
self improvement.

U - Understand others. You know how to talk, you should
also learn how to listen. Yearn to understand first, and to
be understood the second. We have 2 ears and one mouth -
use them proportionately!

V - Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat
on a dry land. You need to have a crystal clear path.

W - Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing.
And to believe is something that is rooted out from the
roots of motivation and self improvement.

X - X Factor is what will make you different from the
others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on 'extras'
on your life like extra time for family, extra help at work,
extra care for friends, and so on.

Y - You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or
talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you
only get to spend it once.

Z - Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!

Pain IS a great motivator, but don't wait for the pain
before you get motivated! Define your goals and move
towards them every day. Keep your focus on your goals
crystal clear and take the most direct path to reaching
them. Stay motivated; without motivation we will get
nowhere!
