I am in the middle of a series of poetry that I think is important to everyone. Or should be. The series that I am writing is on wildlife and conservation. I feel that this is one of our most important issues on this planet and in our country right now.
So many people are so wrapped up in there tiny lives that they forget about the outside world that is being destroyed. I know that I step on toes with my views and my words but how else will people hear me or anyone else for that matter.
Most people don't seem to care about anything that doesn't directly concern them. So I hope that after this little spell of words I have some attention. You are my family, my friends, associates and strangers, poeple who read my writing and enjoy it. And son't worry...I speak these words to myself also. There are a lot of times that I forget and get lazy about things. But we can't afford to do that anymore.

I am a member of at least 5 different wildlife and conservation groups. One of my favorites is the Defender's of Wildlife. These groups and poeple that are apart of these groups do awesome things for our sake, for our childrens sake. How many poeple really think about all the endangered species? How many poeple realize the importance of each and every animal on this planet? Their importance to the ecosystem.
How many poeple look at these creatures and see their beauty, their intelligence, their gentleness, their strength?
I admit it...I am tiger crazy. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love them. I cry when I think about how many of them that are left. There are already 3 species of tiger extinct. I wrote a poem on them last. I put a awesome picture with it. I always try to get a good picture to go with my poems because I want poeple to see what I see and know what I am talking about.
I also love bears. All bears; black bear, grizzly bear [also known as the brown bear] and the Polar bear. Awesome great, giant teddy bears. They are so smart and aware of their lives. They know what they have to do to survive and they do it. It is a hard existance and they don't want to eat us, they want their natural foods. But because of poeple and selfishness and ignorance and greed the bear as well as the tiger and the wolf as so many others are loosing their homes.
They are pushed out and killed. Why? So that humans can have more and more space. Do we not realize that there is so much space that isn't being used in town already? Buildings that are abandoned and lots not being used. We have to spead out take more.
Where do poeple think the animals that live there are going to go?? Well, to be honest, they don't even think about it.

What about our air? What are we going to do without air? Our trees are so important, our grass, our fields of nothing. Poeple have to have more though. More cars, trucks, motorcycles, homes...heck, we have money so we just have to have that giant diesel truck or hummer. Hey let's polute more air and use more gas.
Why is it that humans don't see what their greed does to the planet? Even if not everyone recycled, but just used less gas, bought smaller vehicles, used less land, cut down less trees, they could be doing soooo much. That right there all on it's own would be a great start.

A controversial topic...I know. But...God didn't put us on this planet to destroy it but to care for it. God didn't give us the right to kill off his creation, so what does give us the right?
Did you know that wolves are killed by aerial gunners by the packs. Whole families wiped out. Who gave them the right to do that? These beautiful creatures have a right to live. If ranchers and farmers and normal ordinary poeple want to live where wolves live then they are just going to have to understand that they may loose a few sheep or cattle. They ARE in the wolves home too. That may just have to be overlooked so that everyone can live in peace together.


There is so much to think about. So much that poeple need to see in themselves. I may try but I know that I can not save the world in a single moment, not by myself.
I hope that my simple words are enough to make poeple stand up and start taking action. Holding the government accountable. They are worthless human beings sitting in an office for a paycheck. If you knew some of the responses that I have recieved from these poeple you would know what I mean.

Our children have a right to have air and wildlife when they grow up and so do our grandchildren.

I love the mountains and the tall pines and the rivers that run through with the deer and mountain lions coming down to drink, the coyote. I want it to be there for a long time to come.
