Greetings and salutations!

I may have a propensity to run off at the fingers, and I may tend towards verbosity, but this is my first attempt at an official newsletter, so please bear with me...and send feedback! Thanks!

The purpose of this newsletter is to provide you with updates as to the progression of my life and writing efforts, publications, and news. To that end, then, read on!

The holiday season is even more crunched here in my household due to Scooter's birthday. He just turned one and between that very important occasion and the other holiday events, the submission of SILENT MUSIC has been somewhat delayed. I hope, though, to get it out to Barbour Publishing before Christmas.

Publications:

My short story in the historical fiction genre, "Charis' Healing," is up for public viewing at my AuthorsDen website. Please go to www.authorsden.com/sandylayne and click on the Short Stories link to find it. It is set in Ireland circa A.D. 490.

Soon to be available is the short fairy tale, "Bedtime for Benat." This will be up at www.Nukapai.net, a site devoted to dragons and fantasy. This story was inspired by my dear friend, artist Renee Spahr. Her artwork is also at the Nukapai site. I'll let you know when it's available!

I always encourage my readers to check my weekly column, Kids-n-Keys, at www.WritetoInspire.com. For the two weeks before Christmas, readers are in for a unique experience! My son, Cyclone, and I are collaborating on a brief, updated version of A Christmas Carol. Cyclone is all of eight years old so this will be quite a different venture for both of us!
