Finally, the change of season has arrived. I love the fall with the crisp and colorful fallen leaves and the chilly temperatures.

Our world consists of four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. Each one has a purpose that God has already ordained. Our lives also include these seasons as we live out each day.

Spring

A time for young love, college, a career, and marriage. This is a busy and high-energy lived season. We feel youthful, have high hopes and dreams, and wonder how God wants to direct our lives.

Summer

As the lazy, hot and humid days of this season approach, we may want to slow down our fast and sometimes hectic pace, but find it necessary to keep up the momentum of the direction we have chosen. Trials and tribulations fall into place that seem to threaten our original hopes and dreams which forces us to draw closer to God, making certain we are on the right path. Maybe we are new parents, starting a new job, or are experiencing financial distress. Whatever the challenge, God is there to comfort, encourage and to love us.

Fall

As the cooler weather sets in, we can slow down a bit to enjoy God's beauty. Whether we take a ride to enjoy the colorful leaves or enjoy a time of fellowship in a fall festival complete with building scarecrows, decorating a pumpkin, or laughing during a hayride, these are all life's precious moments to enjoy. It is times like these that we learn God's will for our lives include keeping our priorities in balance.

Winter

Once looking at our reflection at the youthful man or woman, we now see our hair turning white, more wrinkles on our face and our energy sapped into oblivion. Maybe our children are grown and have left for college or have families of their own. Those who are married can look forward to the "empty nest" where they can enjoy the retirement years and grow old together. This is a difficult time for those of us who have lost our loved ones. Having the encouragement and support from family and friends is so important.


Most of all, during any season of our life, God is in our midst. He cares about each of our ups and downs and wants to draw us close to his side.

Hi everyone,

It's hard to believe it's been almost six months since I lost my husband. There is never a day that goes by that I don't think of Tim. As difficult as this is, I know God is holding on to me. I feel Him in the cool breeze, in the warmth of a smile, and from the love from family and friends. I know many of you have lost a loved one in your life and I want to encourage you to get to a support group and stay involved. Yes, we will have many moments where we need to shed our tears, but God is faithful. We know our loved ones are now in the presence of the Lord and are safe in His arms.

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
