It’s hard to believe that it is already February of 2006. I’m sitting in a lodge on Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia as I type this to you. It snowed last night, and the fresh layer is beautiful. My family is skiing, allowing me some quiet time to write to you.

Is it the third nine weeks already? Several Pataskala-area teachers have asked me to visit their classrooms during this time. Please contact me soon so that we may schedule these. Also, Newark Library has asked that I come again. It will be a Wednesday afternoon, which I think will coincide with the days you have requested. E-mail me, and we’ll work out the details.

What have you accomplished so far this new year? I hope you’re striving to meet your goals. I have needed a break from book writing, but couldn’t keep my mind from creating stories. So, I have been writing short stories again for the past few months, and submitting them to book anthologies. It has been a refreshing change. Some of you have already asked about the next book. Not to worry - I’m sure that I will be back to the books again soon.

I did sneak in a classroom visit with the fourth grade class at Ohio Valley Christian School before Christmas break. They had so many questions to answer that I didn’t even have to do a planned presentation. I enjoyed my time with them so much that I spontaneously decided to hold a bookmark coloring contest. I could not choose a winner though because they were all so well done. A panel of judges made the difficult decision. Congratulations to Bethany Beaver! Well, my youngest has returned, red-faced and in need of hot chocolate, with marshmallows, of course. I’ll wrap this up by encouraging you to seek out God’s purpose for your life and to do it whole-heartedly for Him.
