Happy Fourth of July!

Are you enjoying your summer so far? It seems to be flying by, doesn't it? It sure has been beautiful though. Today is another cloudless, sunshiny day! It's a great time to read (and write). So, grab a book and head outside!

Several people have stopped me to ask what I'm up to writing-wise. Here goes:

1. I'm mailing out book proposals. Researching publishers for the right one, revising the proposal, updating personal information such as the new address and phone, and editing the manuscript take time. It will be worth it though. :)

2. I'm meeting Chicken Soup deadlines. Hey, how about you write something for them too? Get some writing credits to your name. Their current needs are on my website (www.paulafblevins.com). Go to the writing aids page for the complete up-to-date listing. Do it soon because some of those deadlines are sneaking up in July.

3. I'm blogging again. Thank you to those of you posting comments. It does help. If a publisher views my website and blog and sees activity from readers, that tells them that I have an audience. They might take a chance on publishing work from a relatively unknown/new author then. Stop by and add your two cents: www.bearinglife.blogspot.com

4. I'm brainstorming several new book ideas. This is always the fun stage. Getting them onto a blank page can be trickier.

5. Lastly, nothing to do with writing, we're doing all that STUFF that goes with moving - unpacking, arranging, hanging, etc. Plus, the kids are finishing up their 4H projects for the county/state fair. OH, it was a great joy to get to spend most of June with my nieces and nephews. They came down one or two at a time for several days. We had a lot of fun! I'll be blogging on that soon. Of course, I have more Nugent and animal stories coming on that blog. The baby guinea pigs were born in June too. I'll get pictures up ASAP on my website.
