Hello! How is 2008 going so far? Is it cold? Have you had a lot of snow or ice?

We had a little bit of snow several different times so far this winter. How beautiful! You can see a picture of it here: www.bearinglife.blogspot.com. When it got so cold recently, we giggled at our outdoor cats' antics. What a sight to see them walking on water as they zoomed across the frozen ponds!

I am thoroughly enjoying my time with Ohio Valley Christian School's fourth grade. We are working through the writing process for each student to create a tall tale. They are very imaginative! Third graders in Miss Genter's class, do you remember reading your tall tales to me? That was another great day!

Other events are scheduled soon too, such as, book clubs and school visits. Southwestern Schools, it'll be great to return in March. I can't wait!

All you animal lovers out there - Chicken Soup is seeking true, Christmas, short stories about your pets. The deadline is the end of March. You can check their site for complete details or visit my website for a current listing (if I can get it published to the web - ah!). There is something there for everyone from Middle School age to Retirement. Be sure to check it out!

Many of you are writing short stories or even manuscripts for novels. I am so proud of you! Isn't it a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when you complete it? Keep me posted.

And now, unless I want to clean and do laundry on my birthday, I better get to work.
