Well, glad to say things are better. This is week 3 out of the six week recovery from the prostate cancer surgery. Kenny actually took his supplements today without complaining "All these pills?" -- Goodness, healing is not an option here. We found out we won't know the results of the pathology report for at least three more weeks.

But I wanted to jump up and pinch myself at the store last night. He even didn't flinch or grinch when I bought soy butter.

Praise the Lord -- Even got him eating turkey bacon now, and he's not complaining about whole grain cereals--but I had to break down and buy some Malt-O-Meal bootleg cheerio type cereal. But I guess he figures it makes sense because friends from church treated us to Uncle Monte's Sunday afternoon, and go figure, "FRIED Pork chops and FRIED Chicken.

He stomach tore up (i.e. got "da runs") at home afterwards. Claims it was "the greens." Child, you now I know better. It's because for over 2.5 weeks, he's been eating light, and nothing deep fried. So I just let him believe it was "the greens."

You know that The "milk" we now use is non-dairy Vitamite. $1.77 for a quart, but the kids are gone and our health can have no price tag. Beside, now when the kids come home they don't see all the processed mess that we used to eat. If they can't cook it, they can't eat it unless they sneak it while we're not in the house after I've cooked it (which is exactly what happened to my brown rice that took 45 minutes to prepare.)

But that's all right. We'll just cook and eat for two. No leftovers. . . no moochie grown kids raiding "da fridgidaire."

But he says "I love you" and kisses me on the cheek. Better late than never.
Well, if anyone knows anywhere I can teach basic speech communications, public relations or writing (don't say Ball State, been on that merry go round) in Central Indiana, or anyplace with an accelerated adult ed program, let me know. I'm knowing Muncie is just limited for what I'd like to share in my life with others. Thanks for the prayers, they (and getting a bit more rest and finishing my second manuscript Sunday night) have made a difference.

p.s. Since I'm not "officially" on staff with IU East for the rest of 2005 (thanks to low student enrollments--Congressional Education Subcommittees are listening!) I'm checking out some options, one that may set me up to fly out of state to teach distance learning weekends somewhere in the US or Canada via CMU if they'll have me.) That's something Kenny says he's okay with. . . he knows we need a bit of change in our lifestyles, so if it came down to it, flying elsewhere to teach would pose no problem at all with me or with him. Career wise, for me, I'm afraid Muncie's all tapped out.
