Well, this is one of those on the run, copy-cut-paste ideas that I can't take credit for, but I'm paying it forward anyway.

If we admit the truth to ourselves, all of us is a sucker for a good forward. Some of us are even guilty for passing it along to an already-overflowing email box.

But sometimes, as "luck" would have it, there is never a time I miss out on sharing wisdom from God who is the giver of blessings. (No, God did not talk to me. He does that thru the FOX evening news.)

Still, even though as a child I told people I was born on Friday Sept 13 (never you mind the year), it was really a Monday. But Friday 13 got me more respect so people wouldn't pull those infantile tricks on me at school. (I was labled, "the preppy negro."

(Shoot, can I help it if my Mama loved to dress me in designer clothes? That's a habit that I now pick up at the Good Will Store, a.k.a. the GW Boutique--no homage to George Bush). At least I don't fall off of my bicycle as an adult. Oh the pain. . . the pain . . .

Still, regardless of politics or prestigious garment tags, luck just leaves things to chance. So I choose faith. Sure, faith is a bit shaky in times like these, but the words below--even from this thingy called "Lotus Tout" left me a sucker to forward to you.

So, like Jesus would do, I do the same for you in this newsletter: "A true friend is
someone who reaches for your hand and touches your
heart." That ain't bible, but it's true nonetheless. Have a safe and wonderful month. See you back on August 1.

SAYINGS OF THE LOTUS TOUT.

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it
cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get
older, their conversational skills will be as
important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have
or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.

FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in
the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get
married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't
have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt
but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't
want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to
know?"

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great
achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self;
Respect for others; and responsibility for all your
actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great
friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take
immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller
will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.
