Last night (Sept. 5) my hubby and I were digesting all of our "way too many" Labor Day carbohydrates watching the free HBO that comes around about as often as Haley's Comet. After watching "Sex Investigators"--which actually "taught" us something, we hunkered down on the couch to watch the not-so-blockbuster-hit, "The Day After Tomorrow."

Except for the fake robotic wolves that just happened to escape from the New York City Zoo, I thought to myself, "Wow, this is just the opposite of New Orleans. Instead of shrimp in the bayou marinating in human feces and other malevolent wastes (don't eat shrimp for a long time y'all!) they have the Statue of Liberty holding up a giant popsicle stick in New York Habor.

My favorite part of the movie was where the "US REFUGEES" trying to escape to Mexico were kept out by the Mexican government. All of these American citizens were wading illegally waist-deep in water through the Rio Grande getting shot at by the Mexican Guard. Talk about flippin' the script!

Well, all I know is even though it was ONLY A MOVIE, there were a lot of errie reflection as to how the government leaders acted and behaved towards private citizens in the aftermath of Hurricane Kick-Ass Katrina.

(Oh, I'm not supposed to tell you this, but in the movie, Dick Cheney's look alike ends up running the country.)
