Tomorrow is the fourth of July. I wish you all a safe holiday.
My father, Lee, died on July 4th, 1953. I wasn't old enough to go to school then and, prior to that, we were inseparable :)! How I miss him . . . still.
We will 'show our colors', have a BBQ AND will have a garage sale! We live close to Prineville Reservoir where many people go fishing, boating and camping . . . especially on the holidays.
I'm still looking for a publisher for "A Touch of the West" and am nearly finished with "Wings". I want someone who will publish both my artwork and my poetry in hard copy so I shall keep looking. So far the two publishers that have accepted it would only do an e-book free and I'd have to buy the first 100 for them do print a hard copy. Any ideas are welcome :)!
Doogie heads to Blind camp July 13th-19th in Salem, Oregon. He's truly thrilled to be going and is counting down the days :)! He's doing well but has, again, begun running into walls, tripping, falling but the retina is still attached--it's the oil (like looking thru crumbled saran wrap).
Doogie's next surgery is scheduled for July 28th at 7:30 in the morning and they intend to remove the oil from his right eye. There is a chance (20% or 1 in 5) that the retina may detach either during or shortly after surgery. Should that happen during surgery, they will repair the retina and re-insert the oil for a bit longer. If it's shortly thereafter, the sooner we get him back to the hospital, the better as the retina tends to 'break-up' once it's detached.
Meanwhile, I'm writing silly things (I know) to keep my sanity and banish worries.
Al's brother, Simon, left yesterday.

People ask, "How can you be friends
with someone you have never met?"
I tell them, "You have never

A Friend to share your
dreams and your tears
and to help each other
wipe away life's fears.

and help each other along
You will make it thru bad weather
because friendship is so strong.

No matter how far apart you go,
your keyboards will keep you together.
and in your heart you will know you
don't need a face to be a true friend forever.

So, How do you explain this to
people who have never been online.
I guess it takes a gesture of
friendship & a little bit of time.

So let's start by sending this around

A smile, a website, a gesture starts it all..
becoming friends doesn't take much!
