Hello,
I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.
Love,
Sandy

Hi,
I sit reviewing pictures of my sister, Helen, and my son, Doug, without tears. It's as if they both are still with me.
My daughter, Sherry, who just told us of her ninth pregnancy two weeks ago, called this morning to tell us she'd had a miscarriage. Perhaps it was too soon after Michael (who died in May of this year two hours after he was born).
Our hearts have been affected by more than lost loved ones. As I reviewed photos in the family album, I cried for Doogie's lost vision, for all the things he can never do, all those things he'll never see. The rest enjoyed the fullness of all live has to offer for their duration with us; Doogie seems to be losing out on so much.
My sister, Helen, bless her, donated anything anyone needed. She'd been so affected by Doogie's blindness that she wanted to make a difference; she did.
It's like I'm wandering in the fall forests but can't see the trees or the beauty of the colors for the tears. Time changes many things ... I'm not quite 'okay' with all these changes yet.
Bear with me, dear friends, I'm taking the long way back.
Keep in touch and take care.
Love,
Sandy
Trails
Trailing my shadow
across sand, seas, trees ...
grave disappointment
grows beneath my skin.
How'd the Devil get in?
Friviously fooled,
taking things lightly,
t'was a deadly road
for my shadow, me.
I survived ... finally.
Trails strewn with old bones,
a skeletal crew,
trek deep--near my heart--
to rendezvous ...
my spirit's with you.
Without a shadow,
I sought a dear soul
to love, keep me whole.
I found you, my friend,
on whom I depend.
Trailing my shadow
across sand, seas, trees,
you walk beside, guide,
grow beneath my skin.
Praise God ... you're my friend.
