Hello,
I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.
Love,
Sandy

Hi,
Hope you are all well and ready to enjoy the holidays :)! We're fine.
Doogie is reading in Braille and doing great these days. We are transferring a lot of his stories on tapes to CD's as the tapes have begun breaking (he listens to them a lot). Otherwise, all is well.
He's learning to use his cane quite well! At home, though, he doesn't use it and sometimes still crashes into walls or doors. We try to keep the house as 'uncluttered' as possible with doors 'ajar' but not open. He's also learning how to use a dinner knife instead of his fingers to push food onto his fork. All these things take time. However, he's only been blind for a couple of months and, for a nine year old, he's been super about adjusting to it.
We will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner for Al's parents.
Meanwhile, I want you all to know that I'm giving thanks for your friendship, prayers and support. Those are things money can't buy and no one can ever have enough 'friends, prayers or support'.
May all your holidays be happy, safe and the stuff 'dreams' are made of :)!
Love you all.
:)Sandy
May you leave with a smile:
A woman rushes to see her doctor, looking very much worried and all strung out.
She rattles off, "Doctor, take a look at me. When I woke up this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my hair all wiry and frazzled up, my skin was all wrinkled and pasty, my eyes were blood-shot and bugging out, and I had this corpse-like look on my face! What's wrong with me, Doctor?"
The doctor looks her over for a couple of minutes, then calmly says, "Well, I can tell you one thing . . . there ain't nothing wrong with your eyesight." joke-of-the-day
A Sunday school teacher asked her class,
"What was Jesus' mother's name?"
One child answered, "Mary."
The teacher then asked,
"Who knows what Jesus' father's name was?"
A little kid said, "Verge."
Confused, the teacher asked, "Where did you get that?"
The kid said, "Well, you know they are always talking
about Verge n' Mary.
