Hello,
I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.
Love,
Sandy

Hi,
I had more dental surgery today--the root broke off and he had to dig, then sew it up. So~before the numbness wears off, thought I'd let you all know that I haven't forgotten you :)!
Two of my poems--A Little Hoarse and Pinto Beans-- appeared in The Powell Butte View, May 2004 issue. I've also entered a couple of contests but mostly I've been trying to finish a least two more e-books before Doogie gets out of school June 13th. I've got the poems together and am working on the artwork.
Doogie is doing well, Al has been fishing (caught nothing yet) and I'm enjoying drawing/coloring to the point of losing track of time :)!
We all have our lives but do keep me up to date with yours ... and know that I care :)!
Keep in touch!
Love,
Sandy
Uncocooned (today's post)
Woolly caterpillar
crawling, eating dust, dirt …
cocooned … a worm no more.
He chooses to fly by—
remembering before …
squished others’ on the floor.
Is it wings we adore?
Metamorphosis, changed,
with innocence galore.
Oh, how that worm can soar!
It’s a birds-eye view …
seeing forevermore.
No time to waste, to bore,
death waits at the nights’ door.
Once a caterpillar
crawling, eating dust, dirt …
cocooned … now worm no more.
I’ve grown a new backbone!
See my wings? Watch me soar!
Always rich though born poor;
I was loved; yes, adored
and my dreams live on … pour …
in my works … left behind
