Come on in and put your feet up. I'll throw another log on the fire and we can discuss what's important. Things like fishing, duck hunting, making maple syrup and family will be gone over.
Stop in once in a while and I'll give you something fresh and new to make your day a bit brighter.

Newsletter Dated: 9/17/2004 3:40:09 PMSubject: Smell it? The political season is upon us. Of all the nerve! Complaining about the other guy. Now have you ever heard of such a thing? Ah yes. The winds of politics are wafting through the land like a plague of locusts. The other guy is such a rotton scoundrel and I heard that_______________. You can fill in the blank and odds are you will probably be right. But relax friends. It will all be over November 2nd and then we'll have to find something else to be upset about. Don't forget to vote. A lot of good men died to give us that privelege We got a bit of rain this morning here in the woods. Not that we really needed it very much. The other evening we got four inches and my basement got three of them. Ruined the carpet and sent the local mice searching for high ground. So the next day I called the local insurance man and he gave me the same news they get in Florida. "Sorry. You're not covered for that." There goes the family vacation to Brainerd...... Tomatoes are still ripening in the garden even after a couple August frosts. Not too unusual for this part of the world I guess. While out lurching around the back forty the other day, I ran into a really big bear. He was blacker than the inside of a cow and if my eyesight was alright, he seemed to be speeding away in one direction as fast as I was in the other. Never realized an old man could run that fast. Well, some good news hit the other day. My third book on old Wil Morgan has been accepted for publication some time next year. It's called "River Chase" and it's not about my bear encounter either. And so from the land of tall tales and tall pines, I wish you well. Ron http://www.ronshepherd.com
