Friends and Fellow Travelers:

Each one of our lives, from birth to death, is an adventure. And, each adventure brushes by, touches, stays briefly or adheres longer with countless others' adventures. We are to marvel and be marvelled at, you and I. I'm speaking to you... and to you... and to you... as individuals. At some point, the paths of our adventures crossed. With you, we may have smiled in passing. With you, my dear friend, my wife, my son, my daughter... our paths may have joined to a wider highway. With you I may have stayed but an hour and laughed... with you the hour was spent in tears. With you our paths well may cross again. Have our lessons not been learned well enough? Do we need more time? May this offering be a way -- not the only way, certainly not the best way, perhaps, but a way -- of reaching out...

Subject: Giddy I Am

Dear Friends and Fellow Travelers:

I've got to tell you I'm so blamed giddy I could ring a bell -- which, of course, I don't have, so I won't. But, just know if I did have one I would. Yes I would... I really would ring it.

Okay, seeing that no one's going to ask why I'm so giddy I'm going to just up and tell you:

Folks, I've just published a short story on Amazon.com. I'm really proud of it. Matter of fact, I think its one of the best things I've written. It's called "The Mumph Legacy." And, I'd be really tickled if you'd read it.

As a matter of fact, I can think of 10 reasons you'll want to read it:

l) It's only gonna set you back 49 cents. And,
that's a pretty good reason!
2) You can buy it and a venti coffee mocha from
Starbucks for less than $5.00.
3) You'll actually have something to look at
instead of the steam from your venti coffee
mocha from Starbucks.
4) You'll still have the story left AFTER you
finish your venti coffee mocha from Star-
bucks.
5) It's a safe investment for the change you
found under the cushion at home -- or at
Starbucks.
6) It's a cheap way to show me you like me!!!
7) If you're not part of my family, I'll
count it as a Christmas present from you
to me.
8) It'll also be a cheap present to give another
friend for Christmas -- that is, if you didn't
spill any of your venti coffee mocha from
Starbucks on it.
9) You might even enjoy reading it... And
10) It simply makes more sense than a partridge
in a pear tree (The things I have to do to
come up with that 10th reason!)

So, dig out those two quarters from your purse or pocket and go to www.amazon.com. Go on, I'll wait. All done? Good. Okay, in the left column, under "Browse" go down to "Books, Music, DVD." Click on "Amazon Shorts." I'll wait... No, honestly... drumming my fingers is just a habit. I'm not rushing you... So, you're finished? Okay, now scroll about 3/4 the way down until you get to "Search." Type in "Jay Squires."

And, there, my friend, you have it!

Now, at the risk of sounding serious... I DO hope you'll download, read and enjoy my story. I'd love to know what you think of it. You can even leave a review on Amazon.com if you've a mind to.

If I don't have the opportunity to speak to you personally, or through a later newsletter, I want to wish each and every one of you the Happiest of Holidays.

Until next time... Keep looking

Always upward,

Jay Squires
