Thank you so much for going through the extra motion of getting on my "active" newsletter list. I now have a prescious 12 subscribers. You are one of those very committed inviduals that want to live a more creative, adventurous life. I'm so glad to have you join me.

I may be the only person I know on the internet that would 'discard' hundreds of subcribers like this. I just wanted to make sure I had a list of really dedicated readers that enjoyed my musings each week; that would actually WORK at the project of leading a more enlightened life.

So call me crazy! Different! Odd! Unique! I don't mind.

The one thing I know is that I feel more energized and freer than ever. And I want to thank YOU for that!

In this new incarnation your old "Creative Pops Weekly" will cease to arrive on Sundays only. I want my muse to feel open for mailings at anytime I have REAL creativity in the REAL world for you.

Why not?

We should never press ourselves into a format when it doesn't necessarily provide the best way to communicate.

You'll also notice that the fancy image ladened newsletter I used to send will be a TEXT only publication now.

You may miss the color and images, but now I can insert links to useful sites and once in a while afford to send you the "fancy version". Alright?

It's a real bare bones operation, in fact, it won't even allow me to insert your name at the top or in the copy, but that's just fine with me. I'm kind of tired of all the fancy 'marketing' ploys internet writers use to appear like they KNOW YOU SO WELL!

It's the IDEAS that matter, after all.

Frankly, with 12 CREATORS I can promise you I know your name very well, and I don't have to prove it with some fancy script. :-)

CREATIVE POP: See The Obvious

Designer Scott Love has observed: "Only the most foolish of mice would hide in a cat's ear, but only the wisest of cats would think to look there."

Don't miss the obvious. Ask yourself: What resources and solutions are right in front of me that I'm overlooking."

So often we spend so much time looking at the 'problem' that we never leave room for the solution. CREATORS step back from the complex and scan the world for the obvious solutions.

I like to ask myself:

"What is the most simplistic solution to this?"

Simple is good. Simple is the watchword. And to every creative enterprise there is at least one simple approach, unfortunately we are trained to react in complex and difficult ways.

Ha! Caught you didn't I? You see Mencken reminds us that we need to have the creative ability to "flip-flop" our minds and never accept a single definition of a human problem. As CREATORS we look for all angles. We approach and accept various solutions.

Now that I've made this Creative Pop complex and difficult for you and pleased your 'left brain' which delights in such connumdrums,--- let me offer another viewpoint of looking for the obvious:

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler."

Einstien was a fellow CREATOR and here he cautions us to really 'drill down' to a simple approach without expecting perfection.

Simple means different things to different people.

What you consider a simple explanation or approach might throw someone else into a tailspin. So, find your simple answers, and don't compare them to anyone else's answer(s).

You can't find the obvious if you don't look for the simple answer FIRST! It sounds so obvious to say that (no pun intended) but it's true.

DO THIS:

1) As you approach a problem or creative challenge, look for the SIMPLE answer first. Take your time, let it come to you before moving on to the next step.

I've been known to let my subconcious work for days on providing the 'simple' answer. My job is to just remain available to that simplicity and keep my over-developed left brain silent in the search.

2) Discover the end result you wish to establish or create. Focus only on this image and inwardly accept that there is an easy solution and a clear map that will lead you to this final outcome that you visualize.

Really use your imagination and place the end result squarely into your mind, especially as you get ready to go to sleep at night. You may awaken with the simple answer to it all!

3) Remember what Thoreau has said: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler".

The "Secret Creator Within" lives in a universe of ready to go solutions for you. You must develop the 'faith' or if you prefer the 'belief' that slutions are always moving inexorably toward you. The universe is truly an 'answering machine' that faithfully will provide---if you let it!
