You're still here? Amazing, and thank you for bearing with me. I was shocked to realize that the last newsletter was dated nearly a year ago! Time sure flies...etc.

Anyway, my profuse apologies.

Since the last newsletter, there's been a new addition to the Dick Hardesty Mystery series (of which I hope you're already aware: "The Dirt Peddler."

Book #8 of the series, "The Role Players," is in the publisher's hands, and is scheduled for an April release. And book #9 is well underway.

recently. My good friend Gary, who runs it, has put in a great deal of work into it. The current update features a conversation Gary and I had about how strongly I depend on my readers--and especially on you, since you've gone the extra step to subscribe to the newsletter--to spread the word about Dick and his gang.

In case you didn't know, the series recently received the WordWeaving Series of Excellence Award. Two of the books, "The Butcher's Son" and "The Hired Man," have previously been finalists for Lambda Literary Awards, and two more, "The Bottle Ghosts" and "The Dirt Peddler" have been nominated for this year. Finalists will be announced in a month or two, and it would be nice to be a finalist for three years running.

Again, I apologize for the long silence and will really try to do better this year. In the meantime, I hope you drop by the site frequently--we try to update it at least every two weeks.
