Hi...this is Penni from Author's Den. This site is very helpful to authors who desire to promote their work. So far I have only one book to hawk, but everyone has to have a beginning somewhere. Publish America took on the book and put my words onto paper. It turned out very nicely. For those of you who already have the book, thank you for purchasing a copy. I do hope you enjoy it. I want to tell you a little about the book. It was first written in 1991. Since that time, the manuscript has travelled more than I ever did in my life! It went to New York, down to Montana, and then on to Florida and lastly landed in Frederick, Maryland into the hands of Publish America. My brother Dennis and his wife Diane lived in Frederick, Maryland for a few years when Dennis was in the Army. I believe my neice, Rebecca, was born there. The trips to New York, Montana, and Florida were for subsidy publishers to view. In my opinion, those places are all well and good for those who have money abundantly to use on their manuscripts and can't find a publisher who will give your novel a fighting chance. My little brother, Neil, gave me some email addresses concerning poetry, and from there I discovered Publish America. It almost seemed too good to be true. I made the offer of what my book had to offer and boom---it was accepted! From April 2003 to December 2003 was all the time it took for ACCIDENTAL OUTLAW to be put into print. It's a relatively small book, but it had at least six to seven different drafts done on it until I felt it was ready. In the book's early stages, I discovered that the three towns I had used in the book didn't even exist in the Civil War years! I had to scramble and do more research to save the book's location. I wanted very much for the area to be Wyoming because of the Oregon Trail. I found information in a magazine and sent for brochures of Wyoming. And that saved my story's location. Another tiny little problem I encountered was with weapons of all things! I learned that certain firearms just weren't around yet and a few changes had to be made. I tweaked it here and there and the results are in the book today. I firmly believe it is important to have details in a book. Accuracy is vital. I worked very long and hard with this book and all the books that are to hopefully follow. And thanks once again for your support and reading my work.
