Hello everyone,
I have to tell you, I'm so excited, I have two new releases from Writer's Exchange.
But I'm not just going to tell you about the releases, I'm going to give you some background information. I'm sharing some of my very private secrets with you, because you are loyal and faithful to romance and it's genre's.
First is Pretend Mom, and yes, it is a re-release. But there is a lot of history about Pretend Mom. After writing this book, and rewriting this book several times, I had it critiqued. Bad move. I had joined this new critique group that I barely knew about and
most everyone began making fun of it. They called my heroine a whore, of which she was a virgin and could not be called such. They thought she had too many boyfriends and well...they didn't like it much. But mind you, these were not published authors.
So, I took it home, looked it over and decided I was right and they were wrong. In most cases, this isn't the correct theory, but these ladies were a bit too critical. So I buried this book in my files and decided it just wasn't ready to hit the publisher's desk.
However, after meeting a publisher on line, I decided that Pretend Mom, even though it was a big gamble was worth a shot, besides, even if the publisher was negative, it would tell me if I was right to worry about how it was written or not. So I mailed it to the publisher. She loved it, sent me a contract and through DenMark Publishing, Pretend Mom became a reality.
These so called critique partners were obviously a little embarrassed. But this isn't to lay blame on them, this is to open your eyes and tell you that if you believe in your work enough, then you really don't have to listen to everyone. But the trick is, to believe in your work. To have faith in what you write.

Pretend Mom went through several publishers, as the first two folded then another and lastly it came to Writers.
Pretend Mom is not a modern contemporary. It is a nostalgic contemporary. By that I mean, I wrote it with the clear intention of putting everyone back into a softer time in life, where life slows down a little. This is a dreamers kind of romance. It has some reality hooked to it, of course, but it brings to mind family, home and just good ole fashioned romance. No, you won't find hot sex scenes in this one. However, I bent over backwards to create as much sexual tension as possible for the reader and myself. It personisfies country people and ways. It throws two very modern
thinking and acting people into a world that is a little more laid back and tries to magnify the benefits of slowing down society. I hope you enjoy this one, and welcome any comments.
Now, the second release from Writers is Strictly Business, and it is totally different. In fact, the surroundings themselves are different in this one. Strictly Business was not written blindly. I worked at a hat factory for two years in Garland, Texas. Loved it. But it is for young people, this work. I inserted some real life like happenings at this fictional factory that most any reader will recognize.
Strictly is sensual in every way. Kia Giavonni is an Italian that can't always stop her emotions and desires. However, she is strong too, in many ways and she helps to build on the character of the hero. If you have read Nick's Baby, you'll remember I took a blue collar worker and threw him with a corporate exe.
In Strictly Business I took the blue collar worker and threw them into a marriage with a rich, playboy boss who had no intention of falling in love. They both had a common goal, but their habits and characters were different and there were many things to overcome. Kia has some private struggles of her own, and surprisingly it is her husband who helps her face them. Together they embark on a marriage meant to be doomed, for the
good of the town. I like to take the impossible and make it possible, you will see.
These are two very opposite kinds of love stories, meant to find their own audience. I hope you are among them.
Strictly Business is my most sensual book and I hope I have presented the kind of story that will stay with you forever.
Pretend Mom was a struggle of pleasure and pain for me. It is a story I had to tell, in my own way, and thanks to WRiters I did.
