The ANGEL'S SHORE book signing went phenomenally (I'm still reeling!). Some twenty customers bought copies, and the wonderful staff at Market Street Book Shop said it was their "most successful book signing ever." I mean, who would have guessed? My sweet co-illustrator (Cynthia) and I are looking forward to creating another children's book together, this time of poetry to pictures. :)

Also, I know you may not be on facebook.com right now, but I'm having great fun posting photos: In addition to posting ones from the ANGEL'S SHORE event, I've posted photos from this month's "PRIME TIME" cover article on author Coleen Paratore (of "THE WEDDING PLANNER'S DAUGHTER" books)! I will be eternally grateful to have interviewed this insightful, spirited, brilliant, angelic author.

Before I link you to the photos, I must get this off my chest: Two days ago, a very successful agency came THIS close to representing my teen novel "Moving Back to Normal." These were the agent's comments that made my heart soar:

"...this is not a work that, for lack of a better phrase, plays it safe. (By the way, I'm so glad you don't play it safe. Your unique approach to showing teen and family life is what kept my interest so long.)"

"This is quirky, and smart, and original, and fun."

"Do know that the issues my team had with your work were not because of your writing, which is excellent. They all had to do with practical matters--organization, plausibility, and concept."

"Whatever you decide, do keep writing. You write wonderfully."

There -- got all encouraging bits down and maybe ALMOST getting an agent is nearly as good as HAVING one? SIGH. I don't think so.
