Years ago …


I dreamt about a large black, hairy spider with very sad eyes. He lived in a town of many children and was desperate for a friend. So he did something drastic …

When I awoke, I ran and told my mom all dreamt details. Together, we thought it could make a good children’s book. She even created some cute illustrations which I still have stashed. The big news is:

The book deriving from the dream is being sold to the very finest, educational publisher in Taiwan (San Min Books). The editor there has become a friend and I’m so excited to work with her on this first book – and possibly a whole spidery series! ;)

More thrills include a very thoughtful Curtis Brown literary agent who is considering my silly, rhyming children’s series, “Holidays of Otherworldly Planets” ;)

Author Beverly Donofrio, my writing idol, has agreed to try collaborating on a children’s book with me. You probably know Beverly as being the author / subject of the book RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS. She was even a producer on the same-name film starring Drew Barrymore. Her honest, blunt, humorous memoirs have always intrigued me. Please keep your fingers crossed.
