Hello Everyone:

Hope this newsletter finds all of you well, happy and enjoying life to the fullest. Speaking of which – that gets significantly more difficult as we get older. Aches and pains set in and many of us find that we cannot function at the same rapid - paced level that we were accustomed to. Even feeling the joy of spending time with family and friends can become severely compromised.

I am one of those Baby Boomers (born 1948 to 1964) and as such, all of the above applies to me. It is vitally important at this stage of my life to take extra special care of myself so I can still get the most out of every day living.

Some of you might already know about a special web site I’ve been building for a co - writer of mine. For those who don’t, it is called Aging With Creativity and is soon to become the No. 1 site for Boomers because it is so interactive. Visitors can share their opinion, comments, ideas and suggestions. They can also share their talents, whether that be in art, a craft or some other field. They can learn how to jump - start a second at - home career to help keep their finances healthy, as well as learn about how to achieve optimal health over 50.

This month's story comes from 32 - year - old Jennifer Hudock. Jennifer shares a terrifying experience that happened in an apartment she and her husband shared about 7 years ago.

The Terrifying Ghost That Came At Night

Jennifer Hudock and her husband did not expect late - night visitors to their apartment in Hughesville, Pennsylvania and they especially did not expect a visitor from the other side.
“We lived in a single unit apartment over a garage, what some people might consider a carriage house,” Jennifer explained. “The only way into the apartment was up a set of wooden steps that ran right beside our bedroom and onto a covered porch. There was the doorway that opened up into the kitchen.”
About 3 a.m., her husband woke her up and asked her to listen.
”He was terrified and shaking, and then before I could even register what had happened, he bolted up out of bed and ran out into the hallway. He turned on the bathroom light and then the dining room and went straight into our daughter's bedroom. He came back and I finally got to ask him what happened.”
”You didn’t hear that”? he asked.
“Hear what?” she responded.
"The footsteps coming up the back stairs?"
Jennifer explained that he’d heard “incredibly heavy footsteps walk up the back stairs, come into the house and walk slowly through the kitchen. It sounded like boots, and as he sat up in the bed to listen he saw a shadow form lingering in our bedroom doorway. He said he felt frozen then. He wanted to get up, but he was paralyzed with fear. The figure turned away and walked back into the kitchen. Next he heard a drawer open and then the footsteps started back down the hallway and into the dining room. That was when he woke me.”
“Needless to say, I was terrified! We got out of bed together and searched the entire apartment to make sure it wasn't a break in. As we entered into the kitchen, chills raced up my spine as I noticed that the silverware drawer was opened about six inches - something that would have never been left open by one of us.”
Jennifer said it took them “forever” to get back to sleep and the following day they were still very shaken by the experience. However, it wouldn’t be their last.
”The next weird thing to happen took place about three weeks later. Just around 3 a.m., I was awakened by a stinging, cramping pain and discovered myself struggling. Something had a hold on my leg and was dragging me out of bed. I started screaming, at which point my husband woke up and turned on the lights. There was nothing there. The strange part about this (well, one strange part anyway...) was that I went back to sleep after about 40 minutes of freaking out and didn't even think about it again until he came home the next day from work.”
That day, she called her sister to tell her what happened.
"Wouldn't that be weird if you had like marks or something from it?" her sister said.
“I checked the back of my leg and there were three long claw - mark like scratches, but they looked like they were under the skin. I had the scars from it for about two years, but today they are barely visible at all.”
She decided it was time to take action.
“Needless to say, I smudged the apartment with sage that same day.”
When recalling this incident, Jennifer said, “The whole thing felt insane! It was nothing like a haunting, but more like some strange psychic attack.”
She wondered if perhaps she’d somehow invited the entity into their home.
“We had lived in our apartment for about three years with the only strange paranormal incident being the occasional glimpse of a black shadow that reminded us both of a cat. After we got a cat of our own, the shadow cat all but disappeared and we never saw it again.”
However, it is more likely that the ghost was a former resident of the carriage house who thought he still lived there and did everything he could to get the people he thought were intruders out of there.
Just two nights after the attack, Jennifer awoke about 4:30 a.m. “because the back door had blown open. It brought in a strange, clean smell and that was what woke me up.”
That was the last incident and appears to have signified an end to the terrifying haunting. As for Jennifer, she said, “I hope I never come face to face with whatever it was again… It is ranked high on my list of most terrifying experiences of my life.”

JOKE OF THE MONTH

Two blind pilots both are wearing dark glasses. One is using a guide dog, and the other is tapping his way along the plane aisle with a cane.
Nervous laughter spreads through the cabin, but the men enter the cockpit, the door closes and the engines start up. The passengers begin glancing nervously around, searching for some sign that this is just a practical joke.
None is forthcoming.
The plane moves faster and faster down the runway and the people sitting in the window seats realize they're headed straight for the water at the edge of the runway. As it begins to look as though the plane will plough into the water, panicked screams fill the cabin.
At that moment, the plane lifts smoothly into the air. The passengers relax, laugh a little sheepishly and soon all retreat into their magazines, certain that the plane is in good hands.
In the cockpit, one of the blind pilots turns to the other and says, “Ya know, Bob, one of these days, they're gonna scream too late and we're all gonna die.”

UFO Community a Buzz over Strange Incidents

The UFO community has been totally in a buzz over the past few weeks due to a number of strange incidents. Aside from the many reported sightings around the world of everything from silver discs to tube - like ships, a man in Colorado believes he has captured a live alien on video that was standing outside one of his windows. I happened to catch this video on CNN’s Larry King Live a few nights ago and was quite stunned by what I saw. Yes, this could have been a mechanical device set outside this man’s home OR it could have been a living, breathing alien with head bobbing, body shifting and eyes blinking.
The video is available for viewing at http://newsletter.ufoguy.com but unfortunately, the best part where you actually see the being has been cut. This video is now in the protective hands of Jeff Peckman.
“It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera,” he said adding that the creature is about 4 feet tall. But he added, “No one will be allowed to film the segment with the extraterrestrial because there is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary.”
Jeff says the video will become part of an upcoming documentary being produced by Stan Romanek, who claims to have had his own UFO experiences and direct alien contact. Stan is known for the complex math equations he is able to create under hypnosis including the Drake Equation, which estimates the number of intelligent civilizations possible in our galaxy. Britain Releases UFO Files

The British government has released its UFO files covering reports from 1978 to 20002, including the remarkable Rendlesham Forest Case (http://ufos.about.com/od/ufocrashes/p/rendlesham.htm) and an interesting report from 1980 when an alien craft was shot down by another UFO over the Mersey River. A witness apparently developed a friendship with an alien called Algar. Algar was about to reveal his presence to government officials but was apparently killed by another alien race before he could do so.

Does Vatican have Inside Info on Extraterrestrial Life?

On the heels of Britain’s decision to open up its UFO files (some countries have already done so, but not Canada and the U.S.), it seems the Vatican is even open to the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
The Vatican’s chief astronomer, Father Jose Gabrial Funes to the L’Osservatore Romano newspaper recently that there could very well be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe and that believing in that possibility is not a contradiction to the Roman Catholic faith.
"How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere? Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother?’ It would still be part of creation," he said.
While this is a stunning statement for a Vatican representative, it is not the first. In 2005 Vatican astronomer Guy Consolmagno produced a 50 - page booklet entitled Intelligent Life in the Universe in which he predicted that the human race would soon find evidence of alien life. And even more surprising, Monsignor Corrado Balducci announced about seven years ago that extraterrestrials were actually already interacting with our planet and that “some of the Vatican’s leaders were aware of it.”
Interestingly, the Vatican even keeps an eye on the skies with its advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) at the Mount Graham International Observatory in southeastern Arizona.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

As the days get longer and warmer here in the northern hemisphere, more people will be out and about in the sunshine. Remember to take care of your skin by using sunscreen. I recently learned that there is not big difference between SPF 15 and SPF 30. The trick to better protection is to lather yourself up more often during the day.
