A LINE FROM DANNY

What a joy it is to have a number of pastors from the Slidell, Louisiana area (St. Tammany Baptist
Association)! I enjoyed so much my visit with these pastors this past Monday morning. Welcome aboard!

Evangelism! We do a lot of talking about winning souls but fail to produce the increase. This week I talked to a church staff member who wondered out loud about how things have changed. He said his father-in-law, a pastor, commented that evangelist now come to our churches, and instead of visiting during the day with the pastor, stays at their hotel and work on other revival engegements. He spoke of his father-in-law himself doing a revival only to have the pastor turn
down a request to go visit lost people in the community.

Thankfully, this is not true of most evangelist and pastors. But it does point to a growing trend. We are losing our world. More people are born each day than we are winning to Christ. It is time we redouble our efforts. It is time we look on “the multitudes with compassion” as Jesus did ... reaching them one person at a time.
