Summary:
On Monday, July 17th, 2006---C. A. Webb will mark his 31st birthday. Those close to the young entrepreneur know that he hasn’t celebrated his birthday since his best friend was killed the day before his 13th birthday. However, beginning in 2003, Webb decided to use the annual occasion to raise awareness (and sometimes money) for causes that he feels strongly about, thus the birth of C. A. Webb Day.

(In the past he has honored organizations such as Building Bridges Inc., Rankin County Arts Alliance, Friendship Connection and Southern AIDS Commission.)

Details:

In 2006, C. A. Webb and Friends will celebrate the 3rd Annual C. A. Webb day on Saturday, July 15th. This will be a day-long celebration of the arts as well as the opportunity for Webb to get art supplies for his free art programs that he offers in Hinds and Rankin County.

Throughout the day there will be visual artists, performing artists as well as spoken word performances. Webb and his organization Shadow Play Entertainment has also arranged for events for the kids as well as concession style food.

Instead of receiving gifts for himself, Webb is asking that everyone donate any type of art supplies (paper, markers, pencils, pens, paints, etc.) that cost no more than $31.00 to the event, or donate up to $31 for his programs.

It is the goal of Webb to have a total of $3100 collected for this project. He is calling on all of his newsletter subscribers and other supporters to do what they can to help. All donations are accepted. A paypal account has been setup to process payments, but we will also be accepting money orders and cashier's checks.

C. A. Webb has been active in the arts for over a decade. Currently he is the Executive Producer and host of the radio and television show CONVERSATIONS WITH C. A. WEBB. The show focuses on those making moves in the worlds of the arts and entertainment. He is also the Editor of CONVERSATIONS magazine. Since 2006, Webb has been a contributing writer for the Clarion Ledger Newspaper, the Jackson Advocate Newspaper, Blagazine, Books2Mention Magazine, Memphisrap.com and other online and print publications.
