September was a very busy month for me, my book promotion for Wobbly Witch is gathering momentum. I enjoy the readings to the children and although the book signings alone are not so interesting, they are indeed rewarding.

The questions that I get asked are usually about how did I get the idea. How do I know so much about cats.
Well the answer is easy, when I lived on the farm, I used to have so many cats, that I lost count at one stage. All revolved around one cat named Puss, she was a ferrel cat who came to visit us when we moved in to the farm originally. Then the inevitable happened, she stayed, and produce many litters of kittens. Of course the cats were excellent at keeping the rat and mouse population down, as well as the rabbits and moles. I didn't much like them catching the moles as I rather like them. Have you ever seen one close up? They have a velvety coat, with huge front feet that resemble hands. These are used for their digging underground, and as they eat only insects I feel that we shouldn't be so unkind to them. So when the cats used to present me with a present of one, I was rather sad.
Wobbly Witch came from an idea I had about a russian doll, do you know round ones that have another inside and they don't seem to fall over do they?
She developed from that. Her friends just seemed to appear. Each story that I do, includes another new character, they sort of want to be included and it's difficult not to. Although some of them I have to put back on the ideas shelf for another time.
