No contract has been offered as yet…but I’ll let you all know if something happens.


NEWS FOR WRITERS

I purchased an interesting gadget that so far has helped me break away from the restraints of my computer and allow me to write virtually anywhere!
It’s a word processor called the ALPHASMART 3000. Apparantly the AlphaSmart can run up to 700 hours on three AA batteries.
You can also purchase it with a rechargeable battery pack (which only lasts up to 100 hours and will die eventually - my advice-stick to the AA batteries).
So! The good news is I won’t have to sit in front of the computer or write long hand anymore. Yehaww!

Peppermint Creek Inn - One stormy night an injured fugitive forces his way into Sara’s secluded home and straight into her heart. Is he the man of her dreams? Or her worst nightmare?

EXCERPT

As she turned around, Sara froze. In front of her, directly at eye level, piled in neat stacks were condoms.
Sara blinked.
Should she?
She snuck a peek down the aisle. Mrs. McCloud was still busily searching through the mail box. Sara’s eyes flew back to the shelf.
Which one should she pick? She'd never bought any before. Jack had always taken care of that kind of stuff.
She bit her lip as an intense excitement zipped along her veins. In a split second, she reached out, snatched a pretty looking box she hoped appropriate and quickly tucked it under her arm.
She turned to look up the aisle, back toward Mrs. McCloud who was still busily picking through the makeshift mail box. Sara could hear the rumours flying! Sara Clarke bought a box of condoms today.
With Tom practically throwing the idea to the old cronies in the hardware store that he was living out at the Inn with her, it wouldn’t take long before the whole town was talking about Tom and herself. So much for keeping a low profile.
Maybe she should put the box back. She didn't really need condoms. She didn't really know Tom. Only that he was gentle and caring and gorgeous and sexy and-.
Dejectedly, she took the box out from under her arm where she’d stuffed it and was about to lift it up to put it back on the shelf when she noticed Mrs. McCloud watching her. The knowing look on her face told Sara she’d been found out.
Reluctantly, Sara headed back to the counter where she hesitantly plopped the headache remedy and box of condoms onto the counter beside the small pile of her mail.
She could feel her face grow hotter as Widow McCloud’s curious gaze raked across the condoms.
“I’m so glad you’re getting back into the swing of things.” The older woman chuckled as she tipped the prices of the two items.

AS BIG AS THE SKY

As Big As The Sky - Sparks fly when private eye Jo Brady goes on the run with her worst enemy. Romantic Times Book Club Awards Nominee.

EXCERPT

“I have an idea Jo. Why don’t you try it on? I want to see how you look in Mom’s wedding dress.”
“But it won’t fit.”
“You let me worry about that. All I have to do is gather the extra material to the back.”
The twinkling happiness in Sara’s eyes made her reluctantly agree and in a minute she had the dress on.
With Sara’s quick tuck here and there, Jo was very surprised to find that the dress fit her form like a glove.
“You look so beautiful.” Sara whispered in awe. “So perfect.”
“You really think so?” She had to admit she did feel quite feminine in the silky, lace covered dress.
“Absolutely. Just like a model in Bride’s magazine. Daniel will absolutely swoon when he sees you.”
“What?”
Jo cringed when she heard the unmistakable heavy footsteps of Daniel McCullen cross the rotting veranda of the tiny cabin they’d sequestered for the alterations. A quiet rap at the closed door and a quick hello made Jo gasp with horror.
“You decent inside?”
Before Jo could respond, the door burst inward and Daniel McCullen wobbled inside, backwards, dragging in a good sized hand hewn table.
Jo’s throat went dry as she stared at his broad back, the muscles in his shoulders and arms bunching up quite nicely and quite visibly beneath his thin white T shirt.
“Mathew said to bring this over. Thought you could use this to fix the dress on, use it sort of like a -.” He turned around and stopped midsentence. His mouth dropped open as his gaze focused on Jo in the wedding dress.
His eyes turned a penetrating dark blue almost black and Jo suddenly found herself eagerly awaiting a verbal response from him.
“A designer table.” He finally muttered.
His powerful hands absently ran along the top of the table he’d dragged in and he continued to stare at her.
Jo couldn’t help but to regard those strong hands, and remember how they’d felt as his fingers had exotically explored along the entire length of her body. She felt herself blush when his gaze lingered where her breasts pushed up against the silky fabric. Suddenly she felt very annoyed with herself for even expecting him to acknowledge she looked half way decent in a wedding gown.
“Excuse me, McCullen. I have to get this dress off.”
He didn’t take her hint. Instead, his sharp blue gaze slid from her breasts, traveled feather light up along her neck and rested on her lips. Jo felt the air back up in her lungs.
“I can help, if you like.” He drawled smoothly.
Jo couldn’t believe his nerve and didn’t miss the enormous smile on Sara’s face as she stood watching from the corner of the debilitated cabin where she’d conveniently and quietly retreated to.
Jo nodded toward Sara. “I’m sure my sister can manage, McCullen.”
Daniel stiffened and Jo took immense pleasure as a delicate pink blush whipped across his cheeks.
Sara stepped forward and placed her sewing basket onto the table.
“Thank you Daniel for bringing the table over.” She said sweetly as if nothing had happened. “I’m sure it will come in very handy for us. Right, Jo?
“Ya, sure.” Jo mumbled not wanting to let McCullen off the hook so easily. But her sister’s stern look prompted Jo to reluctantly add. “Thanks McCullen.”
“You’re welcome, Brady.”
“Daniel, give me your expert opinion.” Sara cocked her head and looked at Jo. “From a man’s point of view. How would you say the dress looks?”
Once again Jo found herself eagerly awaiting his opinion. Daniel’s adams apple jumped crazily as he swallowed nervously. Obviously he was wishing he were anywhere else but stuck in here with two females. Nonetheless Jo cocked an inquiring eyebrow, daring him to answer.
“Good. The dress looks real good.”
He began to walk backward, shoved his hands into his pockets and abruptly crashed into the wall behind him. Jo stifled a laugh.
“Um -. I better be going.” He turned around and slipped out the door.
Sara threw Jo a knowing glance. “See, what did I tell you?”

If you’d like to follow my romantic suspens books as a series start off with Peppermint Creek Inn, then As Big As The Sky follow with Love Through A Stranger’s Eyes .
Please be assured that all books “stand alone” meaning you will not be confused if you read out of sequence. I do however, use characters from previous books as I go along, but in very minor roles.
