Newsletter Dated: 1/2/2003 5:02:12 AMSubject: HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM CHERYL NORMAN! It’s a new quarter and a new year, and time for my latest newsletter.
2002 was a good year for me, but 2003 promises to be even better! Wings ePress released two novels last year, STORMS OF THE HEART and LAST RESORT. The cover art for STORMS OF THE HEART is nominated for a QUASAR award for the artist, Pam Ripling, and LAST RESORT is a finalist in the EPPIE competition for contemporary romance fiction! In addition, LAST RESORT received a 4-Star review in the upcoming issue of ROMANTIC TIMES BOOKCLUB! If you are unfamiliar with RT’s ratings, 4 stars = Compelling; a real page turner. I'm very pleased.
I learned in November that my proposed novella, COMEDY OF TERRORS, has been accepted as part of a mystery anthology to be released in October, 2004. I’ll have more on that in future newsletters.
In late December I released my cookbook, HASTY TASTY MEALS. It’s self-published, but with a lot of help from my Wings friends, cover artist Pam Ripling, and printer PawPrints. I am also working on an electronic, downloadable version, so visit my website often for updates.
What am I working on now? First, I need to finish FULL MOON LULLABY, the sequel to FULL MOON HONEYMOON and LAST RESORT. I put it on the back burner (excuse the expression) while I finished my cookbook. Also, I have a submission under consideration at a major publisher (Fingers crossed!). Besides writing, I’m busy sewing a new dress to wear to the EPPIE awards ceremony in March, held conveniently (for me!) this year in Tampa, Florida. I do love to sew and cook, but writing comes first.
In addition to writing books, I am also the newsletter editor for THE COASTAL CONNECTION, for the First Coast Romance Writers (www.fcrw.net), and FLIGHT OF DREAMS, for Wings ePress, Inc. (www.wings-press.com). Add to that my volunteer work and I’m booked solid for 2003!
I wish you health, happiness, and success in the new year. I also hope you’ll make as much time as possible for reading. There are great stories out there!
