Happy New Year is the phrase of today and with a new moon on the horizon it is a great time to take a bit of time to reflect on the great things to come and to set your intentions.

For some, this means stepping forward into action after taking the time to redirect one's energy into new exciting possibilities and with optimism that comes with a fresh start.

But there is a secret to success in making that happen--it is consistent action based on a plan.It doesn't matter if you want to change and animal's behavior or a human's behavior, the principles and methodology are similar.

I sincerely hope that 2014 is full of great things ahead and as you get ready to move forward into this new year. Take some time to reflect on what worked and what you learned from what didn't pan out as you expected.

Now the latest trend is that people pick a term or phrase to focus on for the year. Have you one that resonates strongly for you?

Toward the latter part of 2013 my term became "divinely orchestrated" simply because of all the amazing things that began to happen. But for 2014 I have a few ideas of phrases or acronyms to illustrate what I want to focus on.

At one time I had an acronym used in my zoological column, ABC's and this year it has morphed into Adventure - Burgeoning - Creativity but it could also be animals & business combined since that is what I have been doing over the past couple of years.

I'd love to have you ponder what your theme or terms might be and hope you will share it with me as we move forward into January.

As for what will be happening online and the monthly newsletter, you'll see some changes shortly. First, I plan on keeping the monthly newsletter (it is hard to believe I've been doing this for 12 years) but I'll also be sending you something in between that is more focused on your interests.

Online I'll be merging my many properties into three main ones. This means ARKanimals will be updated once again as I return to my behavior and conservation roots and ARKtech will remain focused on the technology of marketing. Most of the content from the other properties (animal careers, my books, etc.,) will be combined onto my main blog.

Now I didn't update you in December as planned since I was consumed with moving due to the health dangers of mold that was found in my home and office. The good news is that is probably underlying all the challenges I've faced over the past few years. I have at least another month or so of treatment. The good news is that things have already improved. Needless to say the last six weeks were all consuming and exhausting as I moved into new change and into the recovery process.

The upside is that I get to start the new year off right. This month I am launching a mARKeting makeover course for businesses to get on track starting next week. Also, after the 30 day challenge beta test (which we kept live for 60 days), we were able to partner with another agency and revamp it into a new subscription based online business training portal.

Happily, the local chamber of commerce is now using it to help businesses get the training they need in bite sized chunks that can be done on a coffee break or a learn with lunch session for under 100 USD a month.

As for the animal behavior and training, I'll be working on releasing some of my works in digital format and working on an online course this year for release in an educational portal as well.

So look for some changes soon and I have to say that I am excited and look forward to more interactions and adventures with you throughout this year.
