I intended to slow down for February and March due to weather restrictions, but I still managed to have a few exciting adventures and have booked some great new events for later in the year.

It looks like your prayers paid off! We had several days of winter storms. Although unusual, the snow fell for three days and average about four inches per day, then we got a short break followed by a two foot dump while I was gone this weekend, and another storm is on the way! The only challenges were the big ice boulders that blocked my parking pad and the heavy tourist traffic upon my return. The plow manages to deposit huge quantities of snow and walls me off. On my way back the hills were covered and tall walls of snow shielded the road--and my clean truck is now covered with road grime again. The good news is that the lake level is rising and the trees seem to be uttering sighs of relief as they soak up the moisture.

It has been great meeting many of you at the events. I appreciate your help and continual support through book sales, writing event participation, and referrals. These activities make it possible for me to continue traveling.

1. What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality

ANIMAL VOICES, PSYCHIC EXPERIENCE, SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality: Inspiring Lessons of Wild and Tame Creatures is still attracting a lot of attention. I was sad to hear that the assistant publicist who was working with me is moving on to new pastures, but the good news is that I get to torment Shelly again. Shelly Angers and I met in New York—she is just FAB.

On February 20th I participated (via phone) on Animal Voices, a coop radio program based in Vancouver, Canada. They asked me some entertaining questions about animals and we chatted for about a half-hour. I had a bunch of people subscribe to the newsletter following the show—so welcome faithful listeners!

The cable networks have been quiet since receiving my tapes—nothing unusual. I went down to film the Time Warner/Cox Cable show this week, despite battling a sore throat and feeling under the weather, it went well. The poor hostess was sick, but she got very animated for the interview. The set was closed to any visitors, but the crew swamped me afterwards and swore that I was the best guest they had ever had!

In fact, another show producer who was attending asked me to come back to film an episode with his production—only his reaches 9 million viewers! I’ll post when the Psychic Experience show appears in San Diego and will keep you updated on the news regarding the next filming session.

Finally, a new review on the book comes out in the April edition of Dog & Kennel. Thanks very much to editor Rita Davis for supporting the book!

APPEARANCE & BOOK TOUR UPDATES
The fun news is that I will be judging an Easter Pet Parade in April. The perk is that I will ride on a fire truck to the seating area for the judges. If you can come please join everyone in the City of Redlands for this parade next month.

Other events on the calendar include some new classes and a speaking engagement for a wildlife festival. I still have room for events during my Ventura County trip next month—and would love to do an Earth Day event. Pass the word!

As usual I am still booking events, and March is my lightest month due to weather concerns—which is a good thing considering the predicted storms and the snowfall we have received so far. Confirmed appearance cities for this month include:

The second of our brown bag symposiums, this writing workshop covers all the basics of fiction writing. Novice or veteran writers will take home a wealth of information. If you have not experienced Mr. Foley's guidance before-- you certainly will not want to miss this!

3. Animals: Safari time! CE’s Adventures and Ark Animal Shirts

SAFARI TIME!
If you would like to join me on a real animal adventure—stay tuned. Two trips are being planned now. One adventure will explore the Costa Rican Rainforest and the other animal adventure will take place in Africa! These trips will be outlined next issue. If enough people enroll we can visit Costa Rica this fall, while the new Africa trip is being planned for 2005.

CE's ADVENTURES
My service called, Embracing Animals, Embracing Changes received a warm reception and I had a great time after. CE (my bird) received more attention from everyone as two church congregations followed me to my truck to meet her and tell her how beautiful she was. I swear she is going to get a big head.

CE’s adventures this time included a rude awakening. This trip our sleeping arrangements were altered and she was not completely covered for the night when one of her kitty fans decided to get a close up sneak peak. CE, who was in deep sleep, woke up in what I am sure seemed like a living nightmare. Two golden eyes peered up at her from under the cover. Her response? To attack!

CE is a fruitloop sometimes, but she can also be aggressive and has a mean bite. Anyway, the cat darted off. Although I attempted to soothe CE—she decided we were all fair game for attack. Once I removed the cover and she completely woke up she realized everything was fine and that it was me, so she calmed down.

So, she was relocated to a higher table that just held her cage and provided no perching access to any other critter--and we completely covered the cage this time. Needless to say, CE remained on her best behavior the rest of that visit. It wasn’t until we got to our next stop that she returned to her delinquent self. My comedian pal said CE was only on her best behavior because of her experience. I am sure she was right! CE is secure and safe and always near me, but that experience would have shook me up, too.

This week I am going to visit a delinquent zebra—should be entertaining.
