One of the fun things that occurred this month was the arrival of an unusual CD in the mail. I didn’t know who sent it, but the postmark was New Hampshire.
It was plain (only adorned with an email address), with a photocopied jacket and F.A.Q.

The copywriting was funny. Matt Farley and Tom Scalzo are two prolific musicians who form the group, Moes Haven. They are also very creative and one of their marketing ploys was to send their CD to people they find interesting.

The duo has been writing music together since 1996--recording more than 500 original songs. Their claim to fame is their 24 hour album and said, “Its release was marked by a poorly-attended listening party at Farley’s
apartment in Manchester, NH.”

The FAQ continued, “Right now they have so few fans that anybody who writes them is guaranteed to get a response. Heck, there’s a good chance the boys
might end up writing a song about you.”

I really got a good chuckle. So, curiosity got the best of me and I played it. CE my bird really liked it. The perk is that she gets quiet every time it plays.
For those of you who have parrots—you know how great that is!

Moes Haven’s acoustical work reminds me of listening to some of my San Diego music pals when they first started at small venues like coffee houses.(Many are now really famous.)

Anyway, I visited the Moes Haven website and emailed them. Yes, Matt emailed me back. It turns out that they found me on the Internet and liked what I was doing so they sent me their work. The guys are currently working
on “my” song.

Matt said their songwriting didn't really take off until 2000. “We found ourselves writing song after song at a frantic rate. We had serious songs, strange songs, funny songs, terrible songs, good songs. Everything. We didn't stop to think if it was good. We just kept going…Luckily, we're not looking to make a fortune, just to get the word out there. For many years, we were the only people who listened to our songs. It's still thrilling to find out that others have listened.”

I would highly recommend you visit their website: http://www.moeshaven.com and support their creativity. They have done some other very creative marketing pushes
and I am sure they have more ingenuity up their sleeves.

2. Pet Treat Recipe

This pet treat recipe was sent in by a fan so I could share it with my subscribers. Hope you all will try it and let me know how it works for you. She makes them for her dogs but it looks like we all could eat them!

INGREDIENTS:
· 2 to 3 Cups of flour, (I combine Brown Rice, Potato, and Oat flours)
· 1 Egg
· Cinnamon (to taste)
· 1 Cup Pumpkin
· 1 Cup Canola Oil
· 1 tsp Baking Soda
· Raw Organic Honey (to taste)

PREHEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES
Cream together Oil, Honey, and Pumpkin.
Add Egg and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients.
Add enough flour until the dough is soft but firm enough to roll out on a pastry board.
Roll out dough to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
Cut with animal shapes.
Place on cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes or until firm and golden.

3. Book: The Success Principles

I’ve had the pleasure to meet Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen both. (I seem to run into Mark more than my fair share.) Jack’s new book came out recently, it is called The Success Principles and is written with Janet Switzer.

If you are in business or management, or want more from your life in general, I would recommend this book. Basically it is a text combining lots of the
success principles many of the greats (Dale Carnegie, W. Clemente Stone, Napoleon Hill, etc.,) under one cover.

It offers 64 success principles and is a workbook full of wonderful quotes from some amazing people. The book is a great resource tool for anyone who wants to move into being their highest self—but it is not for sissies.

The Success Principles is one of those books you will want to keep in your Library. Buy it now (hopefully the link works--if not you can get it from my website newsletter link):
