Okay, I'm not having a baby, but I just wanted you all to know that my book, If I Perish, is going to be released -- SOON! Really soon. I have just received my cover art. Feel free to take a look and give me feed-back. I'd really like to know what you think. I'll keep you posted on a 'due' date.

In other news:

I have just gotten an article, A Taste of Ethiopa, published in September's Issue of Northwest Family Magazine. The article came out at the right time as today, September 11th is Ethiopian New Year. Happy New Year, Ethiopia. The text of the article is on my website under Ethiopian Food. It has recipes and some information about the country.

On the homefront:

We got my daughter, Leah, off to college and she seems to be enjoying it. She is taking a bunch of hard classes, part of the cheer team, and working in a gymnastics academy. After her homework is done, she tries to find time on the weekends to finish her first novel.

My son, Kent is busy with high school, tennis, Jazz band, and is looking to start symphony as a percussionist. I'm starting to feel the empty nest thing early.

Thoughts on September 11:

I was sobered -- and shocked -- by the events of September 11, 2001. Today's ceremonies reminded me all over again about what it is to be an American. We are a people of mixed origins from many countries and backgrounds. We came here from all over the world, looking for freedom and a better way of life. We call ourselves Americans.

What happened last year affected many nations, many races, many countries. In spite of terrible tragedy and loss we stood strong, unbowed. We have fought for our liberty and our freedom and our way of life. We will continue to fight for those causes, both here and around the world. I am proud to be an American.
