Spring is here in the Willamette Valley. Forsythia, crocuses, periwinkle, violets, daffodils, hyacinths and plum trees are all in bloom, birds are returning to the feeders in droves and daytime temperatures are getting up into the 60s. Of course, this being Oregon, rain is forecast for tomorrow, but that's okay, it just means more flowers and greener grass.
Meanwhile, a day brightener for me is the following nice review for The Perfect Guy:
"...I really enjoyed this book. This story shares everything, from learning to accept living with new parents, to the joys and disasters of falling in love, to having your heart broken. It shows sometimes what we want is really not what is standing in front of us. A coming of age story that will be loved not only by the young adult but all generations.
…This book allowed you to feel the emotion that was springing in Rebecca all throughout the book. It is definitely a keeper, and Ms. Herrick is a most gifted writer. I look forward to reading more of her works."

For those who like to cook/and or eat, here's a recipe for the spaghetti mentioned in The Perfect Guy:
The Perfect Guy's Spaghetti
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
½ cup chopped green pepper
1 #2 can tomato puree (2 ½ cups)
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 ½ teaspoons seasoned salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon basil
¼ teaspoon thyme
½ teaspoon oregano
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ lb. spaghetti, cooked
Sauté garlic, onion, and green pepper in olive oil, about 5 minutes. Add tomato puree, tomato sauce, seasoned salt, pepper, basil, thyme, oregano and Parmesan cheese. Simmer 2 hours. Serve over cooked spaghetti.
Happy eating and Happy Spring!
Best,
Ann
