Welcome, Renée!

1. How did you become an author?

I became an author by accident. Or maybe it was fate. Although I went to business school and worked for years in finance and operations positions, I've always loved writing. I seemed to always gravitate towards writing projects. Ultimately, I became an author when I had
something that was meaningful (to me) I wanted to write about.

2. What inspires you?

Clearly, my mother-in-law inspires me. Did I just say that? Wow, I guess I did. My mother-in-law (my MILDEW, really) inspired me to write and share MILDEW with others.

3. What are you working on now? Future books?

Right now I'm working on promoting Mothers-In-Law Do Everything Wrong (MILDEW). However, my co-author Liz and I are also laying the groundwork for our MILDEW follow-up. We're collecting more MILDEW stories and interesting tidbits for our next book, tentatively title MILDEW Spreads, so if anyone out there has something they'd like to share, go to www.mymildew.com and click on Contribute Stories.

4. What advice would you like to offer aspiring writers?

Don't take "no" for an answer. Also, write what you know or what you're passionate about.

5. What do you like to do besides writing?

I love going to the movies, reading, spending carefree time with my husband and my children.

6. Favorite movies?

Apocalypse Now; Star Wars (the first, Episode IV); Raiders of the Lost Ark; Ordinary People; Platoon; Schindler's List; Lost in Translation; Thelma & Louise
