I am about to change the name of my Newsletter to "Memoirs of a WW II Weatherman."
Why?
Because that's the name of my latest work in progress. I have almost finished it -- unless I decide to make another three month rewrite.
Keep droping by. It should be out in a month -- or a year -- or a century or two.
Please have patience. It's worth the price.
Hank Newsletter Dated: 1/18/2006 9:07:41 AMSubject: Lost in The Shuffle Sorry folks. My newsletter got lost in the shuffle.
I recently saw a blog that implied: "If writing isn't fun, why write?" I replied in the blogs. I am now replying via my newsletter.
1. If I don't write at least one funny poem every month, I feel lost, sad, unhappy, unfulfilled, grumpy, and a few other things, moods or whatever.
2. If I don't write once a week, who's to know that I'm still alive?
3. Whether I put a smile on someone else's face or not, at least I must try.
4. They say that laughter is the best medicine. Whenever I come up with a good funny piece, I feel like I've taken a tonic. I believe in taking my own medicine as they used to say in the 2nd century -- or was it the 20th?
5. Since I'm older than dirt, I need all of the free medicine I can find. When I smile at my own jokes, a few of my wrinkles disappear for a while and I'm able to shave without cracking the mirror.
6. Whenever I'm broke and reluctant to tithe, I attempt to do a little work for my Master, trying to spread a bit of frivolity among the flock. In times like these, we need it. On the flip side, the joy of giving seeps into my soul.
And so my newsletter comes to its merciful end. Vaya con Dios, as the Latinos might say. Go with God. He will appreciate the company whether you consider Him a Diety, or only a friend.
