Like a lover’s embrace the night air surrounds me, tantalizing skin still warm from the sun’s kiss. The smell of the mimosa tree intoxicates, while the dance of its delicate pink blooms hypnotizes me. I walk to the end of the dock, and drop my toes into the silvered waves, making glistening splashes in the moon’s light. Before his steps echo on the redwood planks I sense his approach, the hairs on the back of my neck sending shivers of anticipation. His hand brushes my shoulder fingers spreading gently, seductively. No words are spoken as I rise, move to him. His lips, soft, full of passion cover mine. I hear the pleading moan, surprised to find it emanates from my own throat. To the darkness under the mimosa tree we dance, then fall among the feathery blossoms. Our heat rises above us carrying our lovers’ cries out over the sparkling lake. I am lost in him, drowning, hoping never to be rescued.

Poet, I must admit, it was the title of the post that caught my eye, since I wrote a short story with the same title. (After I revise it I will repost it). Anyway glad I dropped by to read this truly remarkable timeless piece of sensuous romantic poetry!!!… It was a pure delight, and one you should be very proud of!!!… Excellent work!!!… Thank you for sharing it.
