Merely words on the screen --
digitized messages enabled
by technology and T-1 lines --
yet my heart unscientifically responds
to “You’ve got mail.”
Hidden within each
ether bound communiqué,
woven through the
letters, symbols and punctuation,
breathes the song
of a kindred soul.
Time, circumstance and science
have rendered us friends --
what we share has
transformed us and
blinded us to all
but the torrents of inner truth
that pour from our fingers.
We see each other,
unbound by insecurity.
We speak, soul to soul,
and allow an exposure
few envision.
The world shrinks
as our hearts expand
through this medium
of cyber connections.
We are touched without a touch,
and forever changed.
Greetings from Atlanta.
