The need for *duplicite realities... the age of changing hues
Knowing that I care indeed and wonder if he does too
He speaks of crazy ludicrous whims...the double talking lusts
"You've been divorced...but will you marry me?"..I laugh and want to bust
This bubble of the fragileness.... the cellophane of nerves
The ease of all these jovial puns and ways the passions swerve
The smiles of hearts walking a line and doubts at every shoulder
The compromise of traded lies while love keeps getting bolder
Its terrifying ease of love that keeps us on this track
Its no way indeed for normal folks to scratch each others back
What in hell is going on...why can't I feel the truth
The one that makes me part of him and comes with smiles to boot
Where is his heart and is it love or is it merely time
To feel again and know it's truth ...not syncopated rhymes
For lovers holding onto love regardless of their smiles
For years to come and years that go when love comes in and shines
The genuine puns of hearts forever searching time
The real of those who never knew that reason can be rhymed
With one who loves for loves own sake and cherishes his stay
For now he's sure...tomorrow comes... and then he turns away
He goes instead with love he takes he chooses what he wants
He goes and loses everything to freedom lusts and jaunts
The nightly love that comes perchance to satisfy a dream
The mossy visions of lost love with nightly sweated screams
Why oh why did you come and take away my life..
My passions, love ... ambitious needs and never need a wife
Amusing... yes... comfort ... no... sexually depleted passions
You have my heart... you took my mind and then you tried to trash it
What will keep are memories...the good thoughts I have today
Now conditioning is due diligence... for love that got away.

Stunning, careful work Susan……your words support the vines of your memories beautifully………ty, Dani
I love the lengthy lines which give such a sense of flow and progression to this write, building to an emotional crescendo... I was so willing a "happy end" as you took me along with it!! You have well-expressed an acute sense of longing and of heart's desire a la Shakespearian Sonnet 116: "Love is not love that changes when it alteration finds... no, it is an ever fix'ed mark"; such is the love we probably both long to give and receive. But also are wise words (?whose?): "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". The seasons of the heart are all part of its ultimate richness and strength - and of its fruitfulness. Penetrating thoughts and passionate poem. Many thanks, too, for your continuing kind thoughts and wonderful comments on my work - and I agree: if we were able to get together for that cross-Atlantic cup of coffee, much cross-fertilisation of ideas would probably result! Bless you - and LOVE the pic, by the way!! Kate xx
I wrote this novel several years ago, I self published and never had it to sell. I have decided to rewrite it and hope to get it published within a few months for people to be able to buy. I had a few copies and gave them to a few family members and

Sometimes in life, the memories can sustain us - if they are, indeed, good ones.
