We all lost an angel today
Her wings were given and she was on her way
Preaching for justice and peace for her people
Her voice still rings from life's highest steeple
She knew her fate and was braver than others
Who knew all the hate in the heart of her brothers
She chose to return and make a stand
To stop all the terror in Pakistan
She is an angel and on high she flies
Her strength, love and valor will never die
She knew what she wanted and in her death
The heart of this Martyr will never rest
Her death will enforce her country within'
With the strength of an angel she will always win.
Yes, she was all of those, and then more. She has brought many people together now, that otherwise may not have banned together for the same purpose, and that is to pray for peace and love, to exist on this earth. Very moving poem, Susan, thank you for your enlightening words of dedication to a truly remarkable woman.

A great tribute Susan and I fear you are right, she will become a national martyer and sadly when martyers die so do many others who rise up to defend and honor her greatness...I hope the toll will be worth the sacrifices of so many...

Maybe her regime was corrupt, but it's in the culture, embedded, not something she created or that she can get rid of by waving a magic wand in the air. Something similar goes for where I live. We sometimes expect too much of a single individual, however powerful he/she claims to be. Good write.

I was never exactly confident with her as America's friend, I felt she was going to betray us even as she spouted "I love America." Her regime, including herself, was so corrupt even for that country where corruption is an accepted form of life, that she had to flee the country . . .

This is so sad, another life so kindred to ours has perished, but her
heart and soul will live on in infinity as a testament to all the good that still exists in humanity.
I, too, was devasted to hear of her horrible death. Perhaps, this is what it will take to bring this country to peace and unity. This is a beautiful tribute to a one-of-a-kind woman. Thank you.

Susan...I am saddened that today has become one which shows the darkness of life....though there is more to this Woman than we will ever get to know, She is as you say an Angel who was striving to free Her country and bring them to Peace.
