notta-poem

by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed — Read all 584 poems by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed

Just something to share that makes sense in a world of fear.

Poem Artwork

this is notta-poem
and it's purpose is
simply to remind us how
we ought notta-fear,
and we should notta-be
asham'd of showing our
weaknesses to those who
mean to gird us up;

at times we will face challenges,
or brands new horizons, it is then
we'll ought have notta-thing to fear,
notta-blessing to miss, and
notta-regret for harnessing
our stars and sailing
far beyond indigo horizons
in our seasons of newborn moons.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
~Nelson Mandela~

MY reason for taking advantage of the benefits in YTB Travel: So I can help more authors in my lifetime, and set my family free for generations, get the free health insurance, help others to do the same health-wise and save thousands of $$$ on my taxes. and never worry about paying for authors den memberships or giving to charities, and last but not least, publishing my own books without having to worry about having money as an author, and giving free children's books away to the less fortunate families at Community Library Events all over the USA and beyond.

It is true that we tend to sacrifice too much of our self - esteem at our expense. As a result, much untapped talent and potentially inspiring personality is wasted or lost.

This is a thought provoking word you have shared.

Dai

Notta-poem...............when you bless others, you'll open yourself for MORE blessings. Pass it on, pay it forward, and it will be returned to you a thousand-fold. I can't wait to see what your goodness inspires in your poetry and life: the adventure is just beginning! You have inspired me, (((Cynth'ya))); it is I who is fortunate to count you as poet and friend. Thank you!

Blessings upon you, Sissy Cynth'ya! Your heart is in a very good space which will usually bring so much light into your soul. It is strange the way some of us evolve. When I was younger, I was all about doing for me. I worked to give myself "things". In the long run, I realized that those "things" didn't serve me well anymore and in a way I felt like I had wasted so much, so foolishly. Now, when I worry about at some point not having my financial security, I worry more about the charities that I support not having my contributions anymore. I know how to survive on less than one would ever believe, but the needy and the voiceless have even less than that and often they have nothing at all, and that frightens me. I feel that I was sent here to help, and the thought of someday not being able to do that is painful to ponder. Wonderful words on this page!
Take care,
Sherry
