No such thing as luck. . . just common sense.

started out slow with an
innocent game of celebrity bingo,
then the roulette rush,
watch it spin/red/black
white hot marble/panicky crush
gotta hit it while it's hot
take a spin. . . hope to win,
gamblin' on a crazy whim
tryin' to fix the mess i'm in,
takin' it to the point of sin,
this thing call'd luck got me
stuck in this materialistic muck
so much that trust in anything real
makes the winner in me lose,
makes the coward in me steal . . .
forget about the ones back home
my soul is starvin' for a money meal
God knows it's been a while
since i remember'd how to feel;

land of vegas got me hook'd
on the jagg'd edge of this hellish wheel...
hands of midnight choke my throat,
pockets bare. . . but i don't care. . .
pass me a smoke, need a thrill
a stiff drink & a couple-a-pills,
'cause i'm a winner. . . if it kills me,
luck is my lady, & for her, i'll give my all.

In just two verses God has killed the desire for such sins, and for One Thousand Four Hundred Twenty Eight years the successful had been intelligent to heed these injunctions:

Quote:

"O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper."

Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?
(Quran: Chapter #5, Verse #90-91)

I've never had the desire to gamble, never had the time either! But if I were a gambler I would envision myself as becoming an addict, I could never even play the video games with my kids, I had to beat the game before I would quit! Addictive personality I guess! For this reason I am glad that I don't gamble! Enjoyed this one! Well written my friend!

I stay away from Atlantic city if I can possibly help it as I have this addictive personality and know damn well that I could easily move into the casino permanently, LOL...Ed

This is one reason why I don't gamble; more often than not, people will lose, guaranteed. So I don't even bother with it. There's more to life than gambling. Very well done; brava! Love the graphic!

I am surrounded by casinos. You see people playing the machines for hours and hours. I'm writing a story with a casino in the background, so go and sit and watch the stupor.
