pullin' up
curbside
puttin' on
the Ritz...
struttin' down the
Walk of Fame
put my feet where
famous names choose
not to walk a mile
in my k-mart shoes
but as a grehound tourist i still feel
like a Prada limosine queen
whom unlike Leona, never plans
to ever be selfish & mean....
still i swirl in scents on the avenue of
chanel, vuitton, max mara and such...
sprinkled like a methodist baptism
soakin' up pheromones
in a
Hedy Lamarr rush...
passing mobile vans offering
home spray-on-tans on mighty white pores
...what a bore
but somethin' inside me and you
gets mesmeriz'd in the mix of the
hollywood fix...we can't live with it,
and the rag mags gossip just won't
let us live without it...yet still...
it's kinda nice to dream of a
endless income stream, and
the only difference between
honor and shame is the owner
of the hands who claim the fame...
because once it's all said and done
in the funeral procession, the King
in all his glory will come and
like Janet J. use to say..."Hey Hollywood!
What have you done for me lately?"

Hollywood has sold us a bill of goods...but an unending stream of income would be nice...sigh. There is snap; there is wisdom; this one's good! Dang good. VERY good. Well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
This is a wit-wise composition in contents and imagery. A true poetic feast.
I salute You, Poet.
