MY DREAM GIRL
I dreamed of her companionship.
I’d been so long alone.
And, the passion she made me feel
was unlike any I’d recently known.
I was so lucky to have her love,
but there was a barrier in our way.
Still, I kept my fingers crossed,
that in time, we’d have our day.
She brought me so much pleasure,
and though we were still apart,
often we were together
deep within my heart.
Someday we’d know contentment,
I was confident of this.
I was longing for her touch,
and to share her passionate kiss.
I was looking for a future
without much time to spare.
It seemed it was our destiny,
there was much we'd yet to share.
It was hard to be without her,
for in my mind, I had atoned.
But, if it was never going to be,
maybe I could have her cloned.
Meantime, I’d write her poems,
although, it did seem a bit old fashioned.
It was a shame she’d never see them,
still,,, my mind had known her passion.
after so much time without her
I had experienced a bit of sorrow.
But now, since Baskin Robbins,
I foresee a bright tomorrow.
Dreams sometimes seem real.
The passion, sometimes intense.
Now, I may have met my dream girl
and these words begin to make more sense.
