YOU’RE THE REASON I GO ON
I’ve been writing you some poems,
just a few words I’d like to share.
I sometimes send them to you
so you’ll know how much I care.
Some are just for me,
they aren’t that well written,
but others I send to you
because you’ve got me smitten.
You’re the straw that stirs my drink,
the light that shows my way.
You’re the sunshine in my life.
You brighten every single day.
I look forward to our time together,
whatever the occasion.
You only need to ask me once.
I don’t need much persuasion.
You’re the reason I can hardly wait
for each new day to start.
You’re the nourishment for my soul,
the pump that feeds my heart.
You’re the reason I go on,
the match that lights my fire.
And, every time I think of you
I’m filled completely with desire.
