MY NEW EMAIL FRIEND
She’d been in my thoughts for quite some time.
I’d even dreamt, of her lips on mine.
It could not be, or so it seemed,
but her reality exceeded what I had dreamed.
I was surprised at how my comfort grew
and how my life felt so renewed.
A look or smile can mean so much,
sometimes even, a gentle touch.
She seemed to feel the same as me.
Who’d have thought that could ever be?
That I could learn to love again,
or that she would be my email friend?
Our trip north, was a trial run.
I had only imagined it could be such fun.
But, she’s awakened something from deep within,
something I never expected to feel again.
I can’t remember a kiss so sweet,
or when my life has felt so complete.
I now look forward instead of back,
I feel my life taking a different track.
I can hardly wait for her next trip South,
or to place my lips upon her mouth,
to dance with her, or go out to eat,
to say I love you and then repeat.
