I'm Good at Doing Nothing

We met in an online dating service and have dated for two years, now we're moving in toghether.... SCARY!!!!

I’M GOOD AT DOING NOTHING

My sweetie is moving in today,
the word nervous ain’t enough.
It’s more like “scared to death”
and lots of other stuff.

We’ve been “together” 2 years now
and everything’s been perfect.
We know that we belong,
but worry about a full time fit.

Everything we do, we do together,
so that’s not what has me bothered,
but being together 24/7
has me worried about feeling smothered.

For nearly a quarter century
I’ve spent my time alone,
now there will be another body
with which to share my home.

I’ve kinda grown accustomed
to a rather “sedate” lifestyle.
I do the things needing doing,
but sometimes it takes a while.

Sitting on my fanny
is when I do my best work.
Lazy, some might call it,
but it’s just my little quirk.

Never have we argued,
so I don’t expect much cussing
and I think she already knows
I’m real good at doing nothing.

We’ve already discussed the dangers
of this, our greatest trial
and we both think it’s our best shot
of being happy for a long, long while.

Trust me doing nothing is a good thing, and I assure you that in that specific field I have you beaten hands down. Patrick

I had the same worry, but it was baseless. Now, we can't even imagine living apart.

Good Luck!

I've been "doing nothing" forr 33 years. I guess she thinks it's O.K. 'cause we're still together...

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Seriously, you cleverly put your fear on into very poetic words.

Wow, this is witty in a very deep way.
And this is a big change, and as you know, changes like this always make us nervous even if they are wonderful changes!
Best of luck and all that ~
Christine
