It's supposed to be:
"And to the Republic, for which it stands.... one nation, UNDER GOD...
with liberty and justice for all...

Well, at least that's what it's supposed to be....

TODAY’S RANT

I was preparing to watch the final round of the
U S Open Golf championship…..
they start it off with a montage,,,,
a series of patriotic scenes,,,
and shots of past championships…..
part of the way through it
you hear a class of school kids
saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

NICE!!!

They continue with great scenes
of the military presenting our flag
and a few more scenes
from previous “Open” championships.
Then a few more lines of the Pledge….
More scenes….
More of the pledge….
It’s all very nicely done,

except for one thing,,,,

as they continue with the kids
reciting the Pledge of Allegiance,
they pause,
just after the words
“… and to the republic, for which it stands
one nation……”
then they continue….
leaving out the words “under God”
and pick it back up again with the words
“With liberty and Justice for all.

They continue running more scenes
then more of the kids saying the Pledge
and they do exactly the same thing

Again…..

Now they’ve “gotten my dander up”
This country was founded
by people who believed in God….
Our court houses and most of our
federal buildings have all contained
references to God from day one.
Our money, our constitution,
the bill of rights…..
They all contain some reference to God.

I’m not the least bit religious,
but it burns my ass that NBC
would cower to the people
who take exception to the use of
God’s name in our Pledge of Allegiance.
They’ve gone too far…. …

It’s un American!!!!

Let me assure you…
it’s not people like me,
(who are not particularly religious)
who are pushing for this….
The removal of references to God
in all ways relating to our nation..…
that’s not coming from us.

I was raised in a country school
where we said the Pledge of Allegiance
every single morning…..
And,,,, it always included “Under God”
…and I never once felt threatened by that
.
I’m not bothered by the fact that the words
“In God We Trust” are on our money.
I’m not bothered by any of the references to God.

Just so you know….

The political correct-niks are at work again....sometimes I wonder: if we censored everything because one lonely someone might be offended, then not a whole lot would be said, would it???

I couldn't agree more! Our country is going down the tubes and only a few people seem to care about it! If I had been there, I am enough of a rebel to have yelled out... "Under God." I weep for the country that I grew up in, a generation who honored their country, said the Pledge Of Allegiance as we learned in school and honored the parents who raised us. I didn't mean to expound, but your excellent words re: our country stirred me up a bit. Well expressed, Dick.

You already know that as a 'believer', I couldn't agree with you more. You are a good man for posting your stance on this touchy issue.

I agree with you one hundred percent, although Canadian I have seen the same trend of compromise here in Canada...it is frightening...I thought the purpose of immigrants coming to Canada and the United States was to add diversity not take away from their hosts own heritage and beliefs.

THE WORLD IS CHANGING...AT A RAPID PACE AND '...WHAT CAN BE SHAKENED...WILL BE SHAKENED...' AND THE STENCH OF ARMAGEDDON IS RISING AND FILLS OUR NOSTRILS MORE AND MORE EACH DAY, BUT PRAISE GOD...THE TRUTH THAT IS EMBEDDED IN 'OUR' HEARTS CANNOT BE TOUCHED! THESE ARE THE TIMES WHEN THERE ARE SOME THINGS WE HAVE TO 'KNOW' WHETHER WE 'HEAR' IT OR NOT...WE WILL NOT BE SWAYED... WE 'ARE', "...ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND
JUSTICE FOR ALL..." WELL STATED AND APPRECIATED. GOD WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP AMERICA, UNTIL HIS DAY OF RETURN...IN SPITE OF THE 'TURNCOATS'...IN HIGH PLACES. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

"Under God, Indivisible" Awwww Richard, I love you too! You already understand it goes back to what this country was founded and what our forefathers have passed along to us. Keep the faith and out of the ashes it will get better...

Be always safe,
Karen
