MY LIFELINE
Life isn’t a bed of roses,
yet it sure has lots of thorns,
but when ugliness surrounds me
she shields me from the storms.
She always keeps me grounded,
always knows the score,
constantly pushing me to my best,
she’s the one I most adore,
She’s my mirror image
in all we say and do,
when it’s on the tip of my tongue
she’s already thought it through.
Always a step ahead,
ready with that needed cheer.
When my world is most befuddled
her thinking is always clear.
She’s my rock of Gibraltar,
hers are my Good Hands,
my umbrella from the unwanted
she always understands.
She thinks what I am thinking,
says what I want to hear,
always knows where I’m coming from
and calms my greatest fears.
She’s been my lifeline,
my shelter from the storm.
She’s my special lady,
my rose, without the thorns…
She makes my life more pleasurable
