HE KISSED ME
When he kissed me that night in the darkness,
Party noises seemed very far away.
I trembled upon hearing his steps behind me,
And felt his arms go 'round my waist
I did not wish to wake from that dream,
But I couldn't respond for I was afraid.
And I knew that this could never be,
That we must stay, as always, "just friends."
But I have never been quite the same,
Since that night so very long ago,
In that dark and silent room,
When he kissed me, and said, "I love you."
