As I sit at my dinning room table, I ponder about the time my aunt came to live with us. She just got a divorce and she had a daughter. They moved from Virginia to live with us in Maryland. This is what I first remembered.

When I was about twelve or thirteen year’s old,
My Momma said,
My sister from Virginia is coming to live with us,
One morning I woke up from the fumes in the air,
It was my Auntie Inez’s scrambled eggs,
Made from eggs, cheddar cheese and milk
Scrambled softly, Lightly whipped,
How much I miss those eggs?
I liked the way they tasted,
I miss them desperately,
Sitting at the kitchen table with my kin
Just having a little breakfast
How I wish, those days were back again?
